Lower Wraxall Farmhouse

Positiv Stayed in The Beech Hut for a weekend getaway. It’s in an absolutely beautiful setting, with a gentle stream running through an idyllic garden.
There is ample room in the spacious hut with a well stocked kitchenette: fridge, microwave/grill/oven, induction hob, and toaster and kettle. Also had a barbecue which we happily used and an outdoor bath. There is a wood burner, but we didn’t need it in the summer. It got a little chilly overnight but there’s also a little electric radiator which worked very well.
Great for walking, escaping to the countryside, and relaxing in nature.

Positiv Good location, lovely garden with little stream which the dog loved. Everything fitted away nicely in the Shepherd's hut but was all there (microwave, hob, shower facilities). Host was friendly and helpful.

Positiv Beautiful location. One of the nicest shepards huts I’ve ever stayed in. Microwave and cooking facilities available, but well tucked away and out of sight due to making the most of the space I would imagine. Great night sleep & the bed was really comfy. Gutted we didn’t get to use the outside bathtub as we spent a little longer at a pub a couple of villages along instead & lost track of time. Would love to come back and stay for longer next time. Super lovely and super peaceful with wonderful hosts. Really found a little gem here!

Positiv Location, immediate surroundings, the garden, the babbling brook, the bird feeders, the fire pit, loved the very comfortable, snuggly bed, the eggs, cake and tea/coffee on arrival, the attention to detail including a dog blanket and towel, and Judy, our wonderful host. This is a beautiful place to stay which we would highly recommend.

Positiv Great location and superb accommodation. All the facilities you need for a peaceful break. Close to coast and wonderful towns such as Bridport, Dorchester and Lyme Regis. Host was wonderful too.

Positiv Very qwaint little hut, cosy and warm, away from all the hustle and bustle but only half an hour away from the coast and other places so perfect for us. Had fresh milk and hot drinks available so it was a blessing when we finally arrived in the dark and wet. Bed was super comfy although positioned so you need to climb over the other person if you're on the inside, but other than that, great. Lovely shower but bathrooms very small, not a problem for us though, soap, towels etc all supplied. The location is opposite the farmhouse in the old forge, don't do what we did and follow the sat nav!! We had a rather traumatic experience down a farming lane in the dark and rain. Dog towel and blanket also provided which was so helpful, lots of space outside for the dog, gutted I didn't get a chance to use the outside bath or fire pit. Will definitely come back! Oh and had a lovely bottle of bubbly for our anniversary waiting too, such a lovely touch 😊

Negativ Apart from the position of the bed, everything else was absolutely great!! Could have done with a couple of games or books and/or a small TV above the bed for bad weather days/evenings but we went and bought some cards so kept busy on the evening anyway.

Positiv Lovely clean and well appointed Shepherd's hut and garden. The fairy lights outside made it feel cozy even in bad weather. The outdoor bath was a great addition! The homemade bread and eggs from the farm were a thoughtful touch.. good location too :)

Negativ Nothing really.. the bed was a little on the hard side for us but everyone's different.. and maybe some games and a pack of cards in the hut would have been a nice addition, as we did have one day of very bad weather all day.. luckily I brought my laptop so we were able to watch some films in bed :) Would love it if the price was a little lower than £90 per night as it was quite expensive for us.

Positiv Beautiful location. Hut very clean and tidy. Nice outside lights around the entrance to the hut. Out door bath superb. Fire pit and bbq supplied.very nice touch.

Negativ No tv. Could do with a toaster.
