Tarka Trail Camping

Positiv Superb location for walking and cycling or just for lazing in the sun. The shower/toilet block looked brand new and the facilities were wonderful. We were made very welcome and the natives were friendly! We loved it! We made good use of the cycle trail to visit local towns and villages and eat cream teas.

Negativ It would be nice to have laundry facilities - and I imagine that the number of showers is barely adequate when the site is full - but fine when we were there.

Positiv Lovely shower blocks very clean and great for the Tarka trail

Negativ The lady warden was a bit of a misery no sense of humor.
The waste for grey water was difficult to access and empty.
The washing up area doesn’t have bins so difficult when cleaning off dishes.
Grass was too long I went down a dip/ hole and tripped as you couldn’t see there was a hole there. Not great in the dark.
Not many water taps for drinking water and no drain underneath so would get muddy in the wet weather.
Wrongly we broke a rule playing ball with our dog( he wasn’t on a lead) the area was free of vehicles tents and caravans., but the warden on site came and tore us off a strip and saying that he might poo and we wouldn’t see. (cos dogs on leads don’t poo?!)
10 + years caravaning and probably only site we wouldn’t return to. But saying that everyone is different., don’t knock it til you try.

Positiv Wow wow wow!

It was our first trip in our caravan and as a local to Barnstaple we picked this campsite because we have dogs and were familiar to Instow beach and it was very local. We were blown away with this camping site amenities were spotless and just a stone throw from the Tarka trail and even a bar on site! Everything was absolutely brilliant and even though it’s only up the road we will be booking again! 5⭐️

Positiv Views were lovely easy access to Tarka trail on site. Toilet block nice a clean. Site very quite. Really liked having a picnic table on our pitch.

Positiv Shower block immaculate. Clean tidy area.

Negativ Unable to choose pitch as was put next to a person who decided to get up at 04:00 and was very inconsiderate making lots of noise. He was in a tent like us.

Positiv Lovely quiet, well kept site with a fantastic shower/toilet block. Direct access to Tarka trail and the coastal path, we walked for miles, Instow is beautiful.

Positiv Facilities were clean and tidy, location was perfect tucked away with a gorgeous view

Positiv Like the Location, the pitch was nice and big toilets and showers was always clean and plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and always there to help you find your way around.
