As the Wild Futures monkey sanctuary is a minute’s drive from this park, there’s surely no excuse not to drop in and peer at the protected primates at this nonprofit establishment. Beaches and the coast in general are also easy to access: mosey to Millendreath for watersports aplenty or set off on sea-fishing trips from Looe harbour (both five minutes). For inland activities, amble to Adrenalin Quarry and make the most of the ziplines, open-water swimming and climbing here (15 minutes); more sedate times are to be had during visits to posh pads from days of yore like Lanhydrock House (half an hour) and the National Trust estate of Cotehele (35 minutes). Serene saunters around pretty Polperro fishing village (20 minutes), which has a heritage museum and model town to take a look at, also get a thumbs up across the board from travellers, while the Eden Project (40 minutes) is popular with botanical buffs who want to cast their eyes over plants sourced from across the planet.
