Positiv It was a great experience. Basic but everything was fantastic. Tracy the owner was always there if you needed anything or advice on the local area. Definitely going back and thoroughly recommend this site to anyone.

Positiv Quiet site with stunning views , we booked late for a night get away in our motor home . Perfect spot for off quid camping .

Negativ Nothing . Thought it odd we never saw anyone that owned the site .

Positiv Beautiful view , lots of lovely walks near by . Peaceful . Owners lovely .. Communal fire pit . Cafe just down the road . Swimming spot close by .

Negativ Toilets could have been more spaced out around the field . Only one shower .

We only have enough water pressure (being so far up the hill) to be able to provide 1 shower.
It's the best we can do without electricity and normal mains water in the farm field.
The porta loos are grouped again due to necessity, for convenience and emptying services.

Positiv Summit campsite is the perfect place to get back to basics and to take in the stunning view. Super friendly and welcoming. Glad i found this place! Will be returning soon!Thank you 🙏

Positiv The views were amazing, lady who runs it was very friendly and approachable. The large fire pit with chairs all around was nice.
Single shower was nice.
The newly built communal shelter was really nice along with the solar powered phone charging units.

Negativ Only one shower, the wooden shed it was in was too small, you couldn't get dressed easily, you stepped in to a very small area, only max foot wide, then the shower curtain and cubicle, would be better if the entrance part was bigger.
even though the grass had been cut, it was still quite long and was extremely lumpy and it was mainly a very steep slop.
The porta loos were on one side of the field and the 1 shower was at the bottom of the very steep sloppy field. Drinking water was just in one place next to the shower.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Hi Phillipa, I'm so sorry you weren't expecting a slope, as it's in the title and address Summit Camping Kit Hill.
I am pleased that you enjoyed what amenities we do have as we are just a pop up back to nature site. we try hard every year to add something & take on board what you all say, so as your review is the only one to mention limited space in the shower we will do something about that next year. We only have 1 as that is as far as the water gets up the hill ( 1,300 feet above sea level) & the pressure then trails right off, hence 1 shower & 1 tap. not ideal, but better than none. you can drive to it or pitch nearer.
We will be adding a washing up station by the shower and hope to add a covered area.
The grass had been cut and baled in June, as a farm field it is then left to grow before being cut and baled for hay bales the next time, so yes, is a tad rustic.

Positiv so peaceful, site owner came to say hello on first day, a lovely lady
toilets were kept very clean, lots of space in field
solar charging for phones is an excellent idea too.

Negativ Not sites fault at all, site is on a hill so some pitches are flatter than others but please dont let this put you off.

Negativ Over priced for a field with no washing up facilities and porta loos which 2 out of 4 were full. Rubbish area (jumbo ton bags) overflowing worth no more than £10 a night.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Hi I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, obviously, being a farm field as stated and only a pop up site we are off grid and loos & bins are emptied on a regular basis, but on the day you stayed they did need doing as we had far more bookings than expected, being quite popular now. We take all comments into consideration and I have put procedures in place to have loos and bins emptied sooner. I am up cleaning several times a day.
Yes, and £10 is about what we get for that we provide
Public Liability Insurance for your protection, Fresh water, Free Gas hot shower with biodegradable hair & body wash. 4 loos, double sink & hand wash, bins, dustbins, disposable bbq bin.
