An immaculately maintained site within easy reach of forest, dale and canalside walks, hikes and bike rides… sound rather tempting? Take yourself along to splendid little Bridge Holme Caravan Site for Lancashire – and Yorkshire – adventures in all the above plus a whole heap more. 'Beautiful', 'immaculate', 'lovely' and 'fantastic' are just a few (a very few) of the chuffed comments from former guests at this peaceful farm site among the Pennine Hills, where there's a friendly and relaxed vibe as well as a mighty helpful team. It's a spacious and grassy site, surrounded by historic towns and villages, cities, and protected woodlands, moorlands and open countryside. Bridge Holme is nicely secluded but within easy reach of pretty much everything that might tickle your fancy: it's around 10 minutes' walk from bars, restaurants and shops in the market town of Barnoldswick; several Pennine cycle and bridleway routes also pass through the town, and miles of walking countryside are in the town surrounds. The site is also only five minutes' walk from the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, which runs all the way to Skipton and its tearooms, pubs and big Saturday market. The mountain biking trails of Gisburn Forest are a short drive away, and there are more outdoor options for hiking, mountain biking and climbing in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, around 10 miles away. Pitches are set in a level and mown one-acre field, with views over green countryside (and of the resident goats). The spotless amenities include toilets, chemical disposal, and hot showers for an additional fee (please note that the toilet and shower block is closed from November to March). A play park is adjacent to the site.

Kleiner, gepflegter Platz mit ruhiger Atmosphäre. Betreiber freundlich & hilfsbereit. Nähe zu Barnoldswick (15-20 Min. zu Fuß). Geräumige, ebene Stellplätze. Bauernhoftiere wie Kälber & Alpakas. Saubere Sanitäranlagen, aber wenige Toiletten/Duschen (kostenpflichtig). Ideal für Ausflüge.

Positiv A beautiful site in a great location. It’s a small site, really quiet with great facilities that were immaculate. It’s a working farm so the kids loved seeing the calves and the llamas/alpacas. The walk down the canal towpath was lovely and we ate a restaurant recommended by the owner in the information leaflet. Great communication from the owner who was friendly and very welcoming.
I would definitely recommend this site just wish we had booked more than night and stayed longer.

Positiv Lovely setting and staff seemed nice,. facilities were clean.
Seems really pet friendly and farm animals were lovely to see

Negativ Facilities were minimal, extra toilets and showers would be beneficial also shower should be included within the stay and not on a £1 meter

Went to Brown’s Bar (recommended by Christine) a couple of times and the food was great.

Positiv Location was good. 20 minute walk from Barnoldswick which was lovely. Nice clean site with clean toilets. Helpful and met by Christine when we arrived and shown facilities.

Negativ Having to pay for hot water for a shower. This is usually included in the price elsewhere for the same price paid.

Positiv Lovely site, clean, tidy and peaceful. Close to the Barnoldswick historic circular walk and canal. Easy to exercise the dog on the very quiet lane outside.

Negativ Someone letting their dog poop behind our van, not the site owners fault. We have dogs on leads, walk them away from the pitches to poop and always pick it up. Whoever it was please be more considerate.

Local town Barnoldswick is fably placed for Lancashire and Yorkshire adventures, as it's close to the Yorkshire Dales, the Forest of Bowland, the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, and enough hiking/biking paths to keep one occupied for weeks. The town's on the lower slopes of Weets Hill; for a scenic hike, make your way south of Barnoldswick to Letcliff Country Park and the start of a six and a half mile walk over the local limestone plateau. If you seek even headier times, cross over the Lancashire border to reach the Yorkshire Dales, where the intrepid can tackle the limestone cliffs of Kilnsey, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar within 30 to 40 minutes of Bridge Holme. Slightly less actively, the mountain bike trails around Gisburn Forest (in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) are 35 minutes' drive away. Ready now for more sedate pursuits? The shopping centre and castle of Clitheroe are within 25 minutes' drive and Saltaire and Salt Mill within 40. Further afield, Leeds is an hour and 10 minutes away and York an hour and a half.
