Cliburn Caravan Site Certificated Location

Positiv The site is very peaceful and quiet with beautiful views across the valley and forests. The field was clean with well maintained grass, large pitches and overall a very pleasant get away. There are electric points, drinking water and waste disposal points all conveniently located. We saw a lot of wildlife in the woodland around the site, including red squirrels and deer and bird of prey.

During our stay, our car broke down and had to be left in Carlisle for three days past our booking. Cam (the site owner) didn't charge us for leaving our caravan on the site for the additional days which we were very grateful for, having the unexpected and huge mechanics bill! Cam was very helpful and made sure we had means to get around whilst we were without a car.

Negativ There are no showers or toilets, however this is well advertised so we weren't expecting there to be any.

Positiv Great destination, easy to get to and find off M6, stopped for 1 night on our way to Inverness. Spacious pitches with electricity.

Negativ This is not really a dislike but I think a bigger sign outside near the road might help to find the site , on arrival .

As previously mentioned in other reviews, our facilities are as advertised on our listing, so you know what is here and can't expect more! As for value for money, it is difficult to keep grass cut, fences repaired, driveways in good repair, remover your waste, remove your toilet waste, supply electric & water, pay liability insurance and give 15% to Pitchup for what is paid!!! And we have availability and we don't insist that you stay two nights at the weekend, unlike the big sites that charge £40.

Positiv Everything! The site is in a glorious location, peaceful and in nature. Clean and very well kept. The welcome was simple, friendly and like meeting someone we knew.

Negativ It’s a bit slopy. Easy to get around though.

Positiv Lovely little site, owner very helpful and responsive!
This was our first time out with our caravan and it didn't disappoint, dogs loved it, very quiet, lovely views across the Pennines and peaceful!
Nice quiet lane to take the dogs for a walk, never got chance to try the footpaths as we went into Ullswater walking which was an easy short drive to.
Will definitely stay again soon, thanks again for a lovely break!
