Positiv Such an amazing campsite! Beautiful surroundings, perfectly located and staff were so helpful and friendly.

Negativ Not a dislike but more toilet facilities and showers as there were minimal for the amount of people at the site.

Positiv Kestrel lodge campsite was amazing. Myself and 2 friends camped here for a couple of nights. The showers are amazingly hot, powerful and clean. There are charging lockers for your devices which is perfect. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a very well stocked honesty shop (cash only so come prepared). The pitches are such a good size and give you so much room, it was busy but you didn’t feel crammed in. The site was lovely and quiet and in such a fab location! Would stay again without a doubt.

Positiv The site is immaculate and the location is idyllic . The land pod was warm and comfortable with a battery charger and solar lights . Bathrooms are warm with plenty of hot water . Little honesty shop is also a great idea and is stocked with everything we could have ever needed . The tents are well spaced out so you get peace and privacy . I loved the fact that by 10pm the site was silent other than whatever it was that was sniffing in the bushes .

Negativ The land pod really needs a step to get into. It was raining when we arrived and it was quite a challenge to get into the lovely dry warm pod without getting wet.
The site is a human quiet site but nature is noisy ! Be aware that sheep , badgers , birds and all the other wonderful things that live on or around the site make quite the cacophony of sound from very early morning …. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper . This is not a criticism because we wanted to be in a natural setting it is more so people are aware.

Positiv Such a lovely site. Pitches were very spacious and each came with a firepit. Wood & kindling etc could be purchased from the honesty shop where we also purchased some marshmallows and biscuits to make smores! Facilities are clean and well maintained. Had a brilliant weekend here and Cassy and Charlie are lovely!

Positiv Everything about this site is as good as it gets and will suit single campers, couples and families. Fabulous location with really good amenities including an honesty shop supplying all manner of things from sweets and ice creams to basic food items and cleaning/household items. It is only small but the number of items stocked is amazing. However, it isn't Sainsbury's so there is a limited number of items for sale.
Every pitch is supplied with its own fire pit with logs readily available. Brilliant location for walkers with choices of simple strolls through to more challenging hill ascents. There are lakes close by including Bassenthwaite Lake which can be seen from the site and Derwentwater with the town of Keswick right next door.
Cassie and Charlie do an amazing job looking after Kestrel Lodge site and it's amenities. Only a mile or so away in the village of Bassenthwaite is a pub with food and drinks available.
Quite simply this is one of the best sites I've ever visited and having stayed on my own for a couple of nights I returned within a week with my wife fir a longer stay and she was impressed as much as I was.
I simply cannot rate this site highly enough.
