Positiv Peaceful, easy access, close to toilets and showers.

Negativ Toilets acceptable but showers in need of update and water pressure in the one I used.
Cost via Pitchup was expensive in my opinion for outdated shower block.

Positiv Great pitch. Only 5 pitches on the site. Very quiet.

However, it's going to close soon we were told . That's why everything is run down and old . The shower bock and toilets not very desirable but clean..

Positiv Great little quit site, where else can you have a quiet adult only pitch with the use of great facilities on your doorstep. I know a lot of people rubbish the facilities, dated I know but more than adequate, all like they used to be before getting super posh with heated floor showers etc, traditional old style camp site. Staff not there when you arrive but pitch number on the notice board, when they came round later very helpful, the lady went and got our passes for us to use all the facilities as a bit of a walk, about 10 minute stroll, or you can drive. Fantastic dog walking on well kept countryside pathways, you could walk for miles in beautiful British countryside with all the wild life it offers, had a great stay. The motorhome hard standings were paved vehicle runway with nice grass either side, no horrible stones, also of great size, parked a car alongside and still loads of room, water close at hand so filled up the tank with a hose.

Positiv Lovely old fashioned campsite, peaceful and back to nature. This is not a new campsite and has a charm of its own. Great dog walks and not to far to the nearest pub.

Negativ Just need cleaner facilities to bring up to modern standards but it would loose its charm.

Positiv Large pitches, perfectly flat with beautifully trimmed grass. Very relaxed atmosphere at this adult only site. No litter and no dog poop anywhere! We didn't see much of the staff, but the other campers were friendly and pointed us in the right direction. A perfect base from which to explore all Suffolk has to offer.

Negativ The hedges were a bit overgrown which made it difficult to access the electric hookup. The toilets and showers were a bit dated, but we quite liked the rustic farmyard charm. It is a shame this site will only be available to Park Holidays employees working in the adjacent Caravan Park next year.

Positiv Lovely pitch, quiet and peaceful
Very pretty walk into Saxmundam and the lovely Poachers Pocket pub in Kelsale village
And the fact the campsite is still adult only and dog friendly is always a winner!

Negativ Oh dear where to start…. Well we first started coming to this campsite 17 years ago when a lovely couple ran it
It was so clean and so well maintained but now it just seems to be used for a yard that supports the Carlton Meres holiday park, trucks, vans and buggies roaring in and out a good deal of the time and the toilets and showers filthy and totally forgotten, no one seemed to have cleaned them for weeks! some were even out of order for the 4 nights we were there!
So what we’re saying here is that we don’t feel that it was value for money at £35 - £42 a night ! The good addition was the fridge freezer and the microwave, toaster and kettle provided

Positiv The area was peaceful, nice walk out the back of the site. The wash up facilities had plenty of sinks which was handy. Right next to larger camp site with lovel lakes to walk around

Negativ The toilets needs some tlc, covered in spiders and I think a bat flew out one morning. All functional but could do with sprousing up. As per other reviews - No sign displayed where my pitch was when I arrived. I did email in advance to ask but no reply. Found a guy on site showed me to my pitch, but someone else was on it so gave me another. Tent pitches were crammed into one corner of the site, felt on top of the neighbours

Positiv Nice pitch and quiet. Access to shop and swimming at Carlton Meres was a bonus. Helpful and friendly staff at CM.

Negativ Toilets need upgrading.

Positiv Peaceful place to camp .
Nice walks and good local pub , the Poachers pocket
Lots of lovely places to visit close by .
Can use facilities next door at Carlton mere caravan park

Negativ Very outdated shower and washing facilities .
Not that clean . Had to ask for toilet roll and hand towels to be refilled .
Site needs some TLC . Overgrown bushes round water taps and electric points
