Kleiner, freundlicher Platz mit ruhigen Stellplätzen & exzellentem WLAN. Gelobt werden das hilfsbereite Personal, leckeres Pub-Essen und der Selbstbedienungsladen. Einrichtungen meist sauber, aber teils "in die Jahre gekommen". Hunde nicht im Pub erlaubt. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge.

Positiv It was peaceful, level and probably much nicer in the Summer
Negativ The chap that showed us to our spot was very grumpy and unfriendly.
We couldn’t work out if he was a little deaf or was just plan rude?
He made no polite chit chat.
We stayed only one very cold wet night, luckily we had our own shower and toilet as the Shed was cold and dirty and the washing up unit was outside dirty and got extremely wet!
The site was quiet.
The Pub was closed so no nice hot meal beside an open fire.

Vom Platzbetreiber: The booking was made on Tuesday morning 10am while it was snowing!!!!…. So to be honest I’m not really understanding what you were expecting???… the gentleman the showed you to your spot was my father who’s as you correctly spotted is deaf.. again no polite chit chat??? You arrived and he showed you to your space explained the Pub was closed as it states on pitch up and then wanted to get back in the warm!!! As when you arrived in the dark it was -5!!!… the night of you stay the local weather station at tibenham record -9 over night!!! With temperatures like that the shower block is very difficult to keep as clean as we would like as you can’t dry out the floor and people walking in and out have a tendency to drag in mud on their shoes!! The outside wash up area was switched off as it had been minus temperatures over night for about a month and it will freeze so we make sure it’s switched off…. As stated you booked for one night when it was snowing and minus 9 over night… so really at a loss as to what you thought you were going to get!!!! I mean you could’ve tried the heater on the wall!!!! Maybe camping in the snow at minus -9…. Is not for you

Positiv Nice location, friendly welcome in the pub from Sue and Joe, lots to explore in the local area , Micheal was very friendly and said you are very welcome to stay here anytime! facilities looked good but didn’t use any as we use Motorhome shower etc

Negativ Emptying the cassette the area was very muddy, you need Willie’s and also unplugging the electrics. Weed surppresant and 20 mm gravel would be great around the areas.

Just so we’re sure!!!!! The toilets are cleaned once a day and checked there after… if they’re in a mess then again they’re cleaned. Now here’s the problem!!! It’s not my job to tell people to use a toilet brush or leave the shower in a fashion that they would like to find it. Between late evening and early morning the shower and toliets sadly can’t be checked!!! So did you clean up after yourself or did you leave it for someone else to do and then complain. Did someone other than yourself leave a mess which you then found and have complained about!!… at no point did you come and find ANYBODY and say anything!!!! Hi Mike your shower and toilets a mess…. Thanks for letting me know i’ll go and sort it!!! I’m not a mind reader nor do I profess to be…. Complaints are easily sorted if you SAY something… or you could just go home and right a review and make yourself feel better…….. but!!! It didn’t get the toilets cleaned during your stay!!!!!

Positiv We have just had a lovely quiet weekend break at the Red Lion, Sue could not have been any more accommodating, fitting us in for dinner even though they were super busy and the food was amazing. We will definitely be staying here again, thanks for having us.

Negativ The owners of the pub were rude and condescending. As a result I will not be returning. The older woman inside the restaurant area in the bar made us feel as welcome as a bout of diarrhea.
