Positiv We arrived on the bank holiday monday and found we were the only ones on site. We choose our own pitch and then sat back and enjoyed the piece and quiet of the adult only site. Visited local towns during the day.
And took advantage of a meal in the pub on the Friday night. We got to know Pauline the Landlady and owner and her local friends from the village who are lovely. Having had a wonderful stay we decided to have Sunday dinner before leaving for home stuffed. Loved the tranquil break and will be visiting again.

Negativ 1.As already mentioned in other reviews and actioned for fixing,👍 the toilet/shower room floor.
2.Wonky toilet seat.
3. Other campers before us, dumping waste grey water in the small dyke/soak aways surrounding the camp field that not only damage wildlife but creat bad smells and encourages mosquitos.

Positiv Nice big grass pitches. Nice and quiet. Lots of footpaths through countryside. The food in the pub was delicious and very generous portions.

Negativ Although the toilets and showers were clean they could do with some attention. The floors were soft in places and felt a bit unsafe.

Positiv The pub was nice

Negativ The grass is very uneven and not kept very nice, it’s just an unkempt field with electric.
There’s a possible 18 spaces, but just 2 toilets and showers. So if it was busy the toilets would be inadequate for the possible amount of people.
One of the toilets has a floor that has collapsed and there’s only the lino stopping you going through it.
The toilets and showers are in the same place, they are cleaned every morning, so they get pretty grim.
The site only has 10amp and I think the price is high for what you get and the WiFi is absolutely rubbish.
The site in general looks very tired and uncared for.

I am however thinking about having a dress code notice put up no swimming pool/beach shorts or any other unsuitable clothing in my pub/restaurant. Thank you for saying how uneven how unkempt my site is it has just had it's first two cuts for this year the grass being too wet to be done any earlier.. The grass site is very well looked after grass cut every other week. Large ,very large grass pitches with plenty of room for an awning and parking your car etc at no extra charge all with electric hook up 10amp is more than most sites offer lots only offer 5amp the electric is unmetered so you can use as much as you want to, The toilets and showers are cleaned every morning and early evening and later at night, sorry that I do not have someone to go in and clear up after you have just used the loo. To say the site looks unkempt when we are just coming out of which has been a very stormy winter and no chance for the guys who look after the outside for me to do any work is a bit of an exaggeration I do have 18 pitches but I do not let them all out I only let out 12 at the most, you really should get your facts right.. The issues with the floor in the shower room is being attended to. I am a small village pub in a small country village trying to make the most of the land around me and complement my main business which is food for which I have a good reputation. The WIFI is slower the further you move away from the premises there is a booster in the kitchen . The WIFI was not good when you stayed not for anyone in this area because of storm Dave. I noticed that most of the sites you stay on are just that large commercial style enterprises. You sat in premises laughing and joking I find it very difficult to understand why you could not have raised all the issues you felt you had with me there and then instead of coming on here and trying to trash my business

Positiv Due to time we went (mid week just before Easter holidays) we quiet literally had the site to ourselves. If you are looking for a tranquil, out of the way place this is the one for you. Pitches all level, toilets and showers clean and the hosts friendly.

We knew when we booked and understood the pub wasn't open every day of the week and can totally understand why, opening up mid week sometimes doesn't make commercial sense and we fully support this.

Vom Platzbetreiber: You booked to arrive here on the Saturday 3rd of January after which had been a very busy Christmas & New Year all the guests had been and gone after the Christmas holidays to get back to work or normality. You were contacted firstly on messenger about the weather conditions asking if you would like to cancel or move your booking on to another date. You were then phoned by a member of staff to ask you again, you said no it was all fine and that you was a experienced fisherman who was quite used to being outside in the cold and knew how to boil a kettle. You then called and booked a table for Saturday evening you both had scampi & chips, came in ate your food and left, you could have come and sat by the log fire had a coffee or a drink and a chat. my bar & wating staff felt you wanted to left alone. You also booked a table for Sunday lunch I reserved a table for you, I was fully booked, (last Sunday of the holidays), with a waiting list, you did not show up or cancel and we tried to call you to make sure you were ok, you rejected the calls and then turned your phone off. It is not a secret that this site is self check in, sorry no meet & greet..

Positiv The food was superb as were all the staff. Lovely local walks with dog.

Positiv Very quiet site for the night. Spotless showers, toilet and washing up facility, although did not use as we had a self services motorhome. Right behind the put. Had a meal here and was served by the most polite young lad behind the bar. Extensive menu and the food was very big portions. The owner of the pub was was welcoming. Would stay here again.
