Vom Platzbetreiber: Thanks for your feedback.
We created the small play park for under 5 year olds, as we felt there were already so many things for older kids:- ping pong, ball playing paddock, tree dens, pool table, guinea pig feeding, etc.

Positiv We had such a lovely time. Thanks so much to Andy and Emma for having created such a lovely site. My two girls loved feeding the guinea pigs each morning. Recommend if you have kids

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thanks for your review - much appreciated.
We liked the set up regardless of the little Noise.
Grasbewachsener Stellplatz mit optionalem Stromanschluss
Positiv The place was lovely and clean, the owners are doing a great job, was very friendly and polite Great for our 2 puppies. Facilities were ample enough for the site, we didn’t need to wait too long if was in use. May visit again in the near future but we like to explore and try new places
Negativ Little bit noisy with the generator, which was unfortunately by where we was pitched, we did understand it was out of their Control. Same with the farming very noisy early and late hours as their fields are right next to the campsites . They could have had a little time off on the bank holiday Monday (again we understood).

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thanks for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay here.
Regarding the generator - as you mentioned, this was outside our control. The national grid installed hundreds of them around the area to provide power to hundreds of homes and businesses whilst doing major infrastructure upgrades. The generator was outside our property boundaries, and served 3 other properties as well - we had no say in where it went or when. It was frustrating for us, but luckily was fairly quiet.
As for farmers and farming equipment, yes we are bordered on 2 sides by fields, which does mean occasional tractors, etc. We honestly don't notice them any more! And I am afraid farmers never take time off! ;-D
Would come again

Grasbewachsener Stellplatz mit optionalem Stromanschluss
Positiv A lovely small camp site, with plenty of space at your pitch.
The guinea pig feeding at 8.30am each morning was the highlight of my children's day!
Pool table and ping pong table available which my older child loved.
Lots to do in local area.
Emma and Andy were wonderful hosts, available if you needed anything.
We had a wonderful week at Laurel Park - the children want to return next year.
Negativ I personally don't like shower curtains - no matter how much you clean and change them they always look grubby, maybe a glass/plastic shower door for hygiene purposes would be nicer.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thank you for your feedback and comments. We are glad we managed to get most things right for you and that you all had a great time here.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the shower curtains. We are not fans of them either, however, bi-folding shower doors are very expensive and add another item to the site that could (and probably would) go wrong - especially as they would likely experience a lot of hard use. But we are looking into it and may choose to upgrade to these at some stage.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Positiv The area was really nice and quit (expect for the many pigeons present). We arrived before check-in time and there was no issue at all.
Negativ I expected the glamping experience to be a bit more glampy. For example we needed to rent a fire pit. You would expect this would be included. We were lucky to be alone on the campground, because when it’s full there are for sure not enough showers or toilets. Also there was an electrical power cut and we were not able to use the showers for a while. You would expect a back-up. We also would expect table attached to the tent was clean and dirt would be removed under the table. Ten galmoung tent itself was full of mold (outside). I’m sure with proper maintenance this could be avoided.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Hi Evelien, we are sorry that you felt the need to write such a damning review. It is a shame that your expectations were not met. We pride ourselves on the 9.9 review status we had (before your score reduced this) - my wife and I work very hard to achieve and maintain this. Our efforts are hugely appreciated by the vast majority of our guests, but we are sorry this was not the case for you.
But we take each of your points into account:
Fire-pits are not included in the low cost of £65 per night, as this is already incredibly good value for a glamping tent. Fire pits are only £6 per night to rent - very cheap by comparison to others. Many sites don't even allow fire pits now-a-days.
Your presumption that there are not enough showers or toilets is incorrect. We have significantly more facilities than UK campsite licensing stipulates and rarely have any queuing even when we are full. There are always peak times when things get busier, but unless we had 50 or 60 toilets onsite (totally unrealistic for a 20-pitch campsite), we could never guarantee empty facilities all the time. And for clarity, at no stage were you alone on the campsite - there were a number of other pitches staying at the same time as you. Perhaps you were simply unaware of them as the facilities were so ample! In my opinion reviews should be about your actual experience rather than your presumptions.
The power-cut we were unfortunate enough to experience whilst you were here, happened to hundreds of properties over a wide area - an issue with the National Grid, not our facilities. This is not something we have any 'power' over and fortunately only happens very occasionally. Your suggestion that we should have a backup generator is unfair and unrealistic; A system that could handle a 20-pitch site would cost tens of thousands of pounds, and would address a power-supply problem that occurs less than once a year, on average. Realistically, our only option is to ride out any 'acts of god' such as these and hope that our campers are patient and understanding about such incidences being completely outside of our control. It is a shame you have used this incident to mark our service levels down - especially after appearing so kind about it when we explained it to you on-site.
The "table attached to the tent" is an outside picnic table, which gathers natural dirt from the environment in the same way as all outdoor picnic tables in public spaces, parks, etc. We have never had a guest raise this as an issue before, but we will check this more often.
Unfortunately there is some spotting on the tent. This is frustrating for us as the tent is less than 18 months old and the spotting only occurred during this season - which makes it impossible to address until the end of the season when we can take it down. It is maintained in the same way all our previous tents have been maintained and this has never happened before. We will not be using this tent supplier again and will be replacing the tents with new ones at the end of the season.

Positiv A very friendly, welcoming well-equipped site with spacious pitches.
The table tennis was a bonus, along with the communal areas with seating, and fridge, kettle and microwave.
The facilities were spotless, and showers warm.
Everyone staying on site was very friendly, including the children and dogs!

Schäferhütte Railway Wagon 1 Schlafzimmer
Positiv Travelled recently with my children and loved our stay. Facilities were very clean and didn't have any waits to use anything. The site is very well laid out and feels very calm and quiet despite having many campers.
There were numerous bin and water refilling sites across the campsite so never far to walk.
There are thoughtful gestures towards young kids including the little park area and the guinea pig feeding. The kids loved spotting the fairy doors dotted about.
The wagon itself was lovely and clean. The area outside was well maintained. There was a fridge and kettle with utensils and crockery/pans to use. Worktop stove and firepit included also. There is an eco toilet next to the wagon which was handy with young kids in the night. It was also clean and well maintained.
Andy and Emma were present on site and available to answer any questions. They were very welcoming and were happy to give suggestions on where to go. Unfortunately there was a national grid power outage but they kept campers updated, it didn't effect our stay.
There is a small shop that sells some items you might need which was lucky as I forgot the gas cannister and logs. It does not sell fresh produce so bring this with you.
Overall, we had a lovely trip and my children had a great time.
