Batemans Brewery Caravan Site

Positiv Nice location for getting out and about locally. Enjoyed a couple of visits to the Woolpack in the village. Husband sampled all of the ales, gold could have been clearer but tasted OK. Very informal, friendly service which we liked. Sunday lunch plentiful and kept us full up for our journey home. Would visit again, would also book brewery tour next time.

Negativ Pitch up failed to tell you it was unmanned and that your pitch details were in a box by the gate.

Positiv Stayed here with a group of friends in 3 Campers/Motorhomes. Really nice site clean and peaceful. Toilet and showers are nice no complaints here, warning for wheelchair accessibility the main block is not suitable as there are steps, but there maybe another facility so best to phone and check.

Brewery tour was lovely and definitely worth the money with ample opportunity to sample the beers. The tours were fully booked however Batemans put on a tour specially for us so again phone and ask if there is a group of you.

Location wise absolutely spot on local village 2 minutes walk with all required amenities, train to Skegness takes 10 minutes so all in great place to stay.

Will most probably come back again.

Negativ Some areas for improvement which I hope will be taken in consideration.

1. on arrival there was confusion on pitch numbers as they are assigned, there is a cabinet with all the details but it wasn't immediately obvious that we were supposed to look there until another camper told us so just needs a sign on the entrance welcome board with instructions..

2. Water fill point not immediately obvious and accessible halfway up the field with a hose, maybe fit a water point off the toilet block at the entrance to the site so its quick and easy.

Negativ 3 hours of grass mowing (it has to be done) getting very close to our unit.

Negativ Droning noise all night from pump/pumps to the pipework / tank installation from brewery loading area across the road from camping field
Barely slept and that’s with the roof down and windows shut on camper
Ear plugs may be a solution

Positiv We have stayed here 3 times now, great place, lovely and peaceful.
Close to the train and bus route.
Highly recommend to people.
Will definitely be back again.
