Negativ Country lanes around site very restrictive, paying for showers, no shelves in showers, showers mixed, sloping site, very little info given on site of local amenities/pubs/places to go

Vom Platzbetreiber: Part of the joy of having a quiet site with no traffic noise means we are down country roads..this is usually what people come to us for.

Pitch up does point out that our showers are charged for and the shower block is unisex.

There IS information in the shower block and on the window at reception about local pubs, shops and towns.. but it’s always worth asking me about things to do in the area if you are looking for places to go as a lot of attractions don’t send out flyers anymore, always happy to tell you about the amazing attractions we have in the Forest of Dean and wye valley 😁

Positiv Nice and tidy site, excellent helpful and cheerful owner. Facilities spotless and if you can call loos charming they are charming. Very quiet, plenty of wild life and the sky at night was great with no light pollution.

Negativ Single track lanes only way to walk to the pub. Not the sites fault but something my wife did not like.

Positiv Immaculate campsite situated in a beautiful location with great facilities
Teresa , the host was very helpful and helped me find a lovely local walk to the ponds.
The campsite is stunning and I had a wonderful stay there in my micro camper van.
The depth of bird song was amazing and the dawn and evening chorus were stunning to listen to.
The campsite was pretty empty so lots of space around the van.
Also only 35 mins from my home town so quick to get to.

Positiv Nice quiet campsite, good facilities (a little old fashioned but hot water and good showers) in converted barns. Lots of water points and recycling bins. Great location for lots of outside activities.

Negativ Very sloped field but we did get a fairly even space at the top

Positiv Friendly owners and very clean facilities with the best showers!!

Negativ Nothing negative about the campsite itself that I can think of, we just were unfortunate that there was a group of 6 friends who took the 12pm til 8am quiet hours very literal and every played their music loud up right up until midnight on both nights we were there …even my ear plugs didn’t cope with the base sound. It’s such a shame that for some people camping equals party time, disrespecting both the quiet countryside setting and fellow campers who have chosen a smaller campsite deliberately, looking for a peaceful and relaxing time
. There’s nothing wrong with being social with friends on a campsite, but they could’ve been more considerate to the other families and couples on the site and turned the music down off around 22:00…or at least further down..
