Positiv Quiet campsite the weekend we visited, beautiful views, lovely pub a 20 minute walk away, very casual atmosphere without lots of rules to follow. Showers were decent.

Negativ Toilets were extremely basic, nothing to dry hands on, often without toilet paper. Majority of pitches were very slanted.

Thank you for your review , we are glad you enjoyed the campsite and its beautiful views , we quite agree we are very lucky living in such a beautiful part of the world , that is the beautiful rolling hills of the Peak District which is why some of our pitches are slightly on a slant

The toilets are basic , however they are clean and functioning and we never advertise as anything other then wild camping so toilet facilities and showers are an advantage to your wild camping experience
Check in is very laid back as that is the approach we like to make people feel welcome and relaxed , to just find a pitch and get settled in , I am sorry you prefer a more structured environment

Positiv We like the location of this place - good walks near by but not too far from local amenities.

The back to basics nature of the place is perfect for us - we like to cook on an open fire and there is minimal interference / complaining from people who often confuse camping with glamping which are not the same thing!!!!!

Positiv Had an excellent stay. Great views, very clean toilets and the host was lovely and very accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Positiv The bell ten was great, it had everything we needed with a few added extras we were not expecting but really topped it off. The site manager kindly provided two sun loungers facing west, which provided great views of not only the landscape but the sunset too. It really was amazing. Fire wood was also provided on both nights we stayed. A hob and kettle were also provided, but not used. The role out beds were very comfortable.

Negativ There's only one shower available onsite, which meant we had to queue for 20 minutes on the second night.

This is a risk when booking a campsite, you can't be sure who else will be there at the same time. A group of lads pitched up on the second night, and were noisy and smoking which was off putting.

Other than the above, it was great!

Positiv The location has stunning views over the Wye Valley, Monsal Trail area.
Quiet and peaceful with lovely host farmers.
Five loos and one shower. Warm water on demand. Outside tap.

Negativ If you are cycling from the campsite it is a half hour descent and hour climb to and from the trail down minor roads and bridleways. Good exercise. Option is to drive and cycle.
Site progressively slopes so bring blocks or ramps for vehicles.
