Rockbridge Park

Em va agradar Very nice site, with big pitche, clean facilities and friendly staff. Lovely positioned near a river and with direct access to it, great for relaxing holidays and very dog friendly. Our dog loved the enclosed dog field , and he was even welcomed with a tennis ball as a gift at Check in😍 Dogs even have their own shower and shampoo if needed. Facilities were very nice. toilets and showers were clean, nice dishwashing area, a few books, magazines and games available to borrow too. And of course the cherry on top and the main reason we wanted to see this campsite, the amazing sky full of stars (never seen so many and so beautiful to be fair) and their observatory with the telescope. Really nice touch 👌 There is no shop on site (they sell some ice cream though), so if you forget something at home your only choice is walking 30 min to Preisteigne or drive there if you can.

No em va agradar The bright lights near the observatory which obstructed the much expected views. We have still enjoyed the stars from the pitch but with the telescope not a lot of luck (the EV charger next to the dome was making so much light and was reflecting too much directly on it) . The cozy area created there is amazing and definitely a nice touch but would be even better in a darker area of the campsite 😁

No em va agradar Disconnecting my WiFi connection before checkout time of 11 am after a four-night stay was a surprise and disappointing! Especially as the internet would have been useful arranging onward travel and accommodation plans! 😔

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry there isnt a park on site, but we don't advertise as having one on bookings. We like to encourage the children to explore nature and the river walks.

Em va agradar Dog wash excellent. Dog off lead area good. River for dog was a positive. Friendly staff. Facilities clean.

No em va agradar Multi-party bookings. 5 pitches taken up by one large group making lot of noise until midnight. Coin slot in Laundry positioned out of reach for short people.

Em va agradar Riverside pitch was great with the addition of cows coming down daily to drink.

No em va agradar Showers! The worst possible. Had a push button that had to be depressed constantly to get water. Struggled to wash face and couldn’t even attempt to wash my hair. Such a simple fix but with others saying the same thing, I can’t believe they haven’t installed simple lever system to eradicate such a problem. Such a let down from an otherwise amazing site.
Hand soap dispenser at ladies hand wash didn’t work. Had to hope a shower room was free to get hand soap.

Thank you for your feedback, we have the push showers in order to help with our sustainability credentials, we found before they were installed showers were being left running, which as you can imagine isn't very sustainable. That being said we will look into the timings of the push settings to allow some more time to help the need for consistent pushing.

Em va agradar Site was amazingly maintained staff were amazing pitches well spaced and identified kids play in the river

No em va agradar Very secluded other than a small shop 10 minutes away for bere essentials supermarkets minimum 30min drive children not overly tolerated by long term stays
