Have a hol among hills and alongside the River Lugg at Rockbridge Park, a small family-run site in the Welsh Borders. Surrounded by trees and shrubs in a peaceful setting, this pretty place is within easy reach of days out around the countryside, walks, villages and towns of Powys and beyond. When not roaming the region, spend time lying back on site with your nose in a book, fishing in the river or setting off on strolls nearby. Top spots for touring a little further on include Offa's Dyke, 10 minutes’ drive away, for ambles along the ancient path on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pup wagging his or her tail at the thought of walkies? They’ll be mighty pleased to scamper around the secure dog walk or one of the off-lead areas at this level site, or perhaps among the hills at the Brecon Beacons National Park 35 minutes to the south. The park also has a special dog-wash setup for rinsing all the mud off afterwards; an amenities block has free hot showers for humans to freshen up in too, and there's wifi on site. While your four-legged friend recovers from all the excitement, snatch some time to yourself in Presteigne, the traditional Welsh market town a five-minute drive away with its pubs, restaurants, takeaways, cafés, shops and acclaimed deli.

  • De receptie is onbemand na 17:00. Verwacht je na dit tijdstip aan te komen, breng het park dan hiervan op de hoogte, zodat het team je informatie kan geven over jouw accommodatie.
  • Minstens één lid van het gezelschap dient 18 of ouder te zijn.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Our fully serviced premier pitches have the benefit of an amplified TV signal (included in the pitch price). Without an amplified supply/signal, the site does not have a good TV reception, so please be aware of this if you have booked on a pitch other than a fully serviced premier pitch.

Ik was blij met: Immaculate shower & toilet block, beautiful location, flat & well maintained pitch. Great layout and plenty of space between pitches, which gives extra privacy.
Able to park car by pitch, which was large enough for an 8 man tent, with room to spare!
Waking up listening to the birds and the river, which was right by the tent. Idyllic place to camp. Helped that we had beautiful weather too.

Ik was blij met: We had a fantastic experience at Rockbridge when we stayed a couple of nights in our campervan. The site facilities and upkeep were second to none and the location was scenic and peaceful and ideally placed for walking Offa's Dyke, a circular walk to nearby Presteigne or a leisurely stroll around the site. We would loved to have stayed longer and will definitely be back again.

Ik was blij met: Extremely clean and well-maintained facilities.
I stayed just after peak season, so it was lovely and quiet.
Clear and easy-to-follow instructions were provided, which was helpful as I arrived after check-in. My pitch was right by the river absolutely picturesque.

Overall, it was a short stay, but truly wonderful probably my favourite spot during all my travels.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Not the campsites fault but the google maps took me to the caravan area not the campsite. So I got a bit confused.

Ik was blij met: Beautiful surroundings. Showers & toilets are brilliant, clean & spacious. Walkable into town.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Not a negative but would be nice to have a shop, coffee takeaway, morning pastries & possible takeaway/ bar facility.

Ik was blij met: Booked this site quickly because good weather was forecast and what a lovely site it was. As in loads of others reviews we enjoyed the cows,sheep and nearby river also the views were spectacular.
The pitch was large and flat and the toilet facilities were probably the best we have stayed at.
All in all this site was just perfect hope to return soon for an energising experience

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

Presteigne is a compact spot but it’s well worth swinging by for a look at The Judge's Lodging, an award-winning museum five minutes’ drive away that gives an insight into the grandeur of the masters’ lives on the top floors versus the servants who lived down below. Not so much further on is Knighton (10 minutes) with its community and arts centres for rainy days, along with a local railway link and access to Glyndŵr's Way for wanders along a path named after a Welsh legend. Another 10 minutes (20 from the park) from there is the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre for a glimpse of animals ranging from miniature horses to nocturnal birds. Top towns are scattered around this rural region too: think Leominster (30 minutes away) for sights like grand Berrington Hall (40 minutes) with its views over to the Black Mountains; the famed book and festival town of Hay-on-Wye (35 minutes); or Ludlow to see the castle and Tudor buildings or peruse posh boutiques (40 minutes).
