There’s nothing fossilised about a stay at Newlands Holiday Park, a stone’s throw away from the Jurassic Coast on the Devon/Dorset border, where the staff and facilities should cater to your every holiday need. For example, this lush place has two separate play areas for the kids. For an additional fee, you're also welcome to use the heated indoor and seasonally heated outdoor pool with a splash zone and a spa, sauna and gym too (age limits apply to these last three). Both pools have loungers so you can bask in the sun and wonder where the kids get all that energy. More? There's an indoor soft play area. Also use family-run Newlands as a base for a Lyme Regis fossil-hunting holiday or just lounge about on site; either way, epic times are on the cards. The 23-acre landscaped park has all the facilities you’d expect from a thoroughly modern site: internet access and clean, up-to-date amenities including hot showers and a launderette. Half a mile from Newlands, the World Heritage village of Charmouth has shops, restaurants and pubs… and is also known for its hardy souls taking to the sea in fancy dress on Christmas Day.

Em va agradar Very clean, particularly the toilets, well laid out so everyone had a viewing, everyone was friendly. Pool was beautiful, spent a lot of time in there.
Everything of a high standard.

No em va agradar Bit of a pain having to remember to take a card to pay for the pool, would rather had the cost all in with the pitch fee.

Em va agradar Facilities and cleanliness of the majority of the site. Pitches were well kept and the site was neat and tidy.
Shop stocked a good choice at decent prices, which is refreshing for a site shop.
Check in was quick and seamless and very friendly.

Great areas to sit inside and outside with the dog, not all sites accommodate pets inside, so a good move.

Lovely walk into the nearest small village to the beach was easy and welcomed to stretch the legs.

No em va agradar Shower rooms need updating as look tired - also attention needed on the cobwebs and dust in these areas.

Different pricing in the bar for the same drinks was not good either.

The dual carriageway was noisy early morning, but I am not sure what the owners can do about this as it is a busy road.

Em va agradar Grass pitch with really good view. Bar, food and swimming pool all excellent. Tribute real ale on tap much appreciated. Singer on Saturday night was excellent.

No em va agradar Pitch was a bit messy and muddy on arrival. Tap didn't work properly at chermical cleaning point. Point was dirty in any case. Shower and toilet block in need of a revamp....which I note has been applied for.

Em va agradar It was very clean well run near to Charmouth beach the people running it were helpful and friendly it is very close to the A35 but the road whitened down at night time the bus stopped outside the gate to Lyme Regis would stop again

Em va agradar I absolutely loved my stay here. For a start I received a very friendly and helpful welcome from reception staff making navigation to the pitch super easy, as it is quite a big park!

The pitch itself was a lovely size (grass,EHU) but manh different types.

There is a great shop on site, a pub/restaurant. Kids areas inside and out, an indoor and outdoor pool and gym!!

You can camp there in a tent, a pod, tourers, static caravans right up to fancy lodges!

All very well taken care of the facilities are all excellently kept

Under 20 mins from Lyme Regis, 5 mins from Charmouth. You can almost see the sea around the corner but instead have to look over beautiful countryside instead!

Charmouth is the gateway to the Jurassic Coast and has some of the best fossils to be found in Dorset: the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre has fossil collections and guided fossil walks and is where you can proudly bring in your very own fossil find to be identified. The beach is a 15-minute walk from Newlands: stroll from here to Lyme Regis keeping your head down for more fossily finds, then wander around Lyme to take a look at Cobb Harbour (made famous in Jane Austen’s Persuasion); buy freshly ground flour at the 14th-century watermill; amble along to at the ammonites, exhibitions and events at the museum, or tee off on the cliff at Lyme Regis Golf Club. Mini fossil-hunters will likely be monster fans of the award-winning Dinosaur Museum at Dorchester, and taking a detour while in town to the Teddy Bear Museum. If they’re watery types, they’ll have a whale of a time at the Splashdown Water Park in Poole and the walk-through underwater tunnel at the Bournemouth Oceanarium. Closer to Newlands and Dino Dan, families can trundle along on the Seaton Tramway for a scenic trip through the estuary of the River Axe, or feed a shoal of fish at Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium.
