If your destination is Dorset-based, farm yourself out to the friendly folk at St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park. Just a 20-minute drive from the centre of Bournemouth, half an hour from Poole and 15 minutes from the New Forest National Park, it should make an excellent base to get out and explore from. This is a place that has sparkling clean loos, toasty hot water for showers and washing up, and well-marked-out pitches – clearly the owners know what guests want. Canine campers are also welcome too. If you want to sizzle your own sausages, saving one for the dog, you can exchange gas cylinders on site. There are two major supermarkets within five minutes’ drive, two pubs within a mile and a number of nearby restaurants if you’re feeling lazy/thirsty. St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park is a sociable but quiet site and has a 'no noise after 11pm' policy – most welcome if you’re getting up at the crack of dawn for some seaside exploring. The security gates are locked at night for safety and security; there's overnight parking outside of the security gates if you need it, so check at reception to find out the exact times the gates are opened and closed.

Em va agradar This has to be the best campsite we have ever stayed at.
So accodating of my daughter whom has severe disablities and in a wheelchair.
They made sure we were next to the disabled toilet and shower.
Very friendly Kaz and Katie were on point with their customer service.
The park on site is awesome.
The pitch size is also awesome.
The on site playbarn although was for little ones they allowed my daughter to play in there it was so lovely to see her replaying her childhood.
The farm animals are so cute.
We will 100% be back.

Em va agradar When we were there it was very quiet not many others there. The staff were great and really friendly.

No em va agradar You could hear the cars on the main road but after a while kind of got use to it. At night it was quite.

Em va agradar Very friendly staff (although sadly not knowledgeable about the area as they’d only been there 5 weeks!) The small farm onsite is lovely to walk round with the chickens, peacocks, sheep, donkeys and pigs. It’s very convenient to walk up to the main road to catch buses (unfortunately you can no longer get a direct bus to Bournemouth or Poole) and to be able to walk to supermarkets.

St Leonards Farm is one of the closest sites to Bournemouth, with sandy beaches only seven miles away. There’s loads to do nearby if you’re feeling full of beans – try watersports such as windsurfing, sailing or surfing at Bournemouth’s artificial reef, or get busy with some go-karting, dry slope skiing, golf, fishing or horse-riding in the scenic surrounding countryside. Feeling a bit tired after all that sporty exertion? Take a picnic to nearby Moors Valley Country Park, which has a golf course, cycling routes and outdoor play area, or have a family day out at a plethora of local attractions including Paultons Park, Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Wimborne Minster Model Town. Kids will likely enjoy fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, and if they’re disappointed by not finding a T-rex skeleton right there and then, you can take them along to the Dinosaur Museum at Dorchester, then spoil them with a day out at Adventure Wonderland less than three miles from the park. The site is also an ideal stopover point for the Poole or Portsmouth cross-channel ferries.
