Checking out spots to stay between the north Cornwall coast and Bodmin Moor? Then it might be time to check in at Lanarth Hotel and Caravan Park, a family-run site in St Kew Highway, just off the A39. This spacious park has 10 acres of peaceful gardens to relax in, plus nicely level plots that are easy to access (so no need to stress about squeezing down those pesky West Country lanes). You also get use of the hotel's well-maintained facilities, including a games room with pool tables, a cosy fully licensed bar and an open-air pool between late May and mid-September. Holidaymakers also have a purpose-built toilet and shower block a short walk away from the pitches. There's a pub that serves hot food, a Cornish pasty shop and a hairdresser's a short distance away in the village, while those who need to stock up on groceries have supermarkets in Wadebridge (10 minutes' drive), which is also a stop-off point on the gorgeous Camel Trail. Bringing a bike here (or hiring one in town) opens up 18 miles of almost totally traffic-free vistas, so make sure to earmark a day for some relaxed backcountry pedalling. After days of exploring, once back at base you could chill around a barbecue, order a nightcap at the bar or simply take advantage of the low levels of light pollution and gaze up at the night sky…

Em va agradar Loved the piece and quite lovely site very well kept and cycle distance to wadebridge port isaac and did the camel trail to Padstow
And a asda express 5 mins from the site

No em va agradar To get to alot of places by bike or walking you have to go on the main Rd but not the sites fault

Em va agradar Lovely clean well kept park with lovely mature tree serounded each field, a very clean toilet and shower and washing up area , Steve and his wife makes your stay effortless and relaxing, as a solo camper I was made welcome by local in the onsite Bar , I would highly recommend 👍

Em va agradar Such a lovely holiday. We felt so peaceful and safe, and as a mother on my own with my 5 year old son this is so important to me. The family who run the site were so welcoming and helpful, and they work hard to keep the place spotlessly clean and tidy.

We loved the swimming pool and beautiful grounds. We loved the friendly peacocks and waking up to see rabbits playing just outside our tent in the mornings!

Good location for bike rides into port Issac and Polzeath

Em va agradar Everything! Absolutely amazing stay! Very welcoming on arrival, all the facilities were very clean. The site very well maintained. The staff are first class. The wild life is great and the peacocks are fabulous! We will be back. Very highly recommended!

Em va agradar Brilliant campsite. Loved the friendly, inquisitive peacocks. Very clean toilet and shower facilities. Beautifully mowed grass. Level pitches. Great litter disposal. Easy to find and central to lots of attractions and places in Cornwall.

Em va agradar Lovely peaceful site and friendly, helpful welcome. Signposted to a great pitch and felt we were in our own little private campsite 😊 Restaurant and bar on site although we didn't use it, handy if needed.
Clean toilets and showers.

Em va agradar Lovely grounds (but so wet) Very nice gentleman who checked us in. Would be lovely in the summer months.
Shower facilities were adequate.

No em va agradar Bar/hotel was not open for food and bar only open from 8pm, it was a dead hole!
Nothing within walking distance.

Em va agradar Lovely well maintained site, very pretty area, the peacocks are beautiful. Easy to get to, sat nav took us straight to the entrance.
The pool was spotlessly clean, plenty of toilets and showers and again very clean.
Owner was very friendly and showed us to our pitch.
Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Almost opposite the site is Saint Kew Golf Course (two minutes' drive), a 4550-yard-long course with a driving range that welcomes both adult and junior players. (If your golf isn't up to much, there's also a farm shop and cosy café next door.) For other active jaunts, you could feel the wind in your hair by walking on the splendid South West Coast Path (15 minutes) or lope over rugged Bodmin Moor (15 minutes), perhaps venturing out to famed 18th-century smuggling haunt Jamaica Inn (30 minutes). For beaches, you could launch a trip to Newquay (30 minutes), where a mixture of sandy shores, surf culture and classic arcades pretty much guarantees good times all round. There's also an assortment of more low-key beach spots like Polzeath (20 minutes), Harlyn (25 minutes) and, if you fancy sampling the south coast, Lantic Bay (50 minutes). Inspired by the site's leafy layout? The Eden Project (30 minutes) and similarly world-class gardens like The Lost Gardens Heligan (45 minutes) are within easy reach. Finally, there's potential for day trips full of Arthurian heritage at Tintagel Castle (30 minutes).
