Sort yourself a serene stay in Cornwall at Gwel-an-Nans Farm, a site in a secluded spot south west of Bodmin Moor and less than a 15-minute drive from the town of the same name. Pull up and you’ll get a sunny welcome at this two-and-a-half-acre park in the middle of a bigger animal-filled farm. Everyone is spoiled here: for the kids, there's a separate enclosed field for games of football and bike riding, and for the furry companions, there's a dog field where they can run around to their heart's content. This is a spectacular park for thrillseeking as well as lazing about, with the moor right outside the entrance for mountain biking, and off-road paths over in Cardinham Woods less than a 10-minute drive away. Keen freewheelers can take on the famed Bodmin Beast as well as a couple of other tricky red-grade trails. Along with pedalling on the 18-mile Camel Trail, family-friendly touring on two wheels is to be had at the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House estate less than a 10-minute drive. And if you’d rather roam, ask Gerald and Sheila about the two-mile nature trail leading down to a hidden wooded valley back on site or set off on a circular saunter around the round walls of Restormel Castle 15 minutes’ drive... Reckon you’ll be famished on your return? A catering van is open daily on site for hot and cold drinks, pasties, snacks and breakfast croissants. Supermarkets, restaurants and pubs are over in Bodmin – check out local sights like the jail, regimental museum and obelisk while you’re in the area too.

Em va agradar We had a very pleasant stay, the owner was delightful the grounds were easy to find, they were kept clean and tidy and nothing was too much trouble. Showers were warm and plenty of hot water, toilets clean. Area was lovely, we will definitely be visiting again. Thankyou for having us! Mal, Siân and George

Em va agradar Schöner, mittelgroßer und gepflegter Campingplatz. Sanitäre Anlagen okay, Wasser schön warm. Mikrowelle und Kühlschrank standen zur allgemeinen Benutzung zur Verfügung. Außerdem gab es einen schönen abgetrennten Bereich für die Kinder zum spielen (Kids playing field).

Em va agradar Fantastic views, quiet location, welcoming and helpful host.
Norma works exceptionally hard to provide an inclusive site.
The site is a small, quiet site that can accommodate for individuals, couples and family’s.
The facilities are clean and Norma provides first rate catering services. I cannot not fault the hospitality and attention to ensure guest have a nice stay.

Em va agradar This is a perfect pretty campsite. The layout of pitches is great. Norma is very welcoming and shows you where everything is. There is also a on site washing machine & tumble dryer. This is my second year returning and will definitely be going back next year

Em va agradar This was our 3rd time staying at Gwel-An-Nans and never fails to disappoint. Warm welcome as always from our host Norma and quickly setup in our pitch. Wonderful countryside location, views are awesome. Very quiet and peaceful. Great base for exploring both North and South coasts. Facilities were great! Clean wash facilities, hot showers and plenty of electric/water points. Dedicated playing field for the kids. New snack hut is a great addition (amazing coffees/hot chocolates and the homemade Cornish pasties are some of the best we’ve had!!). Can’t fault this campsite or Norma who will always go out of her way for you. Incredible value for money!! Thanks Gwel-An-Nans campsite! We will be back for sure

Em va agradar Super host, welcoming and thorough with site information upon our arrival.
Provided us with lovely warm croissants and pain au chocolat pastries in the morning and proper Cornish pasties for our day at Cardinham woods.
Facilities clean and tidy at all times, decent hairdryer in the ladies.
Beautiful crescent moon a stars at night.
Lovely peaceful and relaxing campsite, great location for Cardinham woods, walks and getting away from it all, just what we were after.

Em va agradar Spent 12nights here, such a lovely quiet site, well maintained. Norma you are amazing, your caring and kind attitude, going above and beyond for all your guests really makes your site stand out from others. Such a fantastic location with everything within 30/40minutes drive and the bodmin beast right on the door step for our bike loving children. We will be back again

Cornwall’s Eden Project is 25 minutes from the site for perusing plants from different environments and climates under two biomes set in an old china clay pit; if you’re into your landscaping, the pristine nature around Pencarrow House (also 25 minutes away) and the 200 acres of outdoor space at The Lost Gardens of Heligan (45 minutes) are well worth a look too. Seeking surf? The waves of Watergate Bay, Fistral beach and Holywell Bay are all 40 minutes from the site if you’ve a wetsuit and board to hand, while kayak rental can be had at Polkerris beach 35 minutes' drive away. Sort other watersports inland at Siblyback Lake (half an hour), where raft building, paddleboarding and fishing are all available. Golitha Falls (20 minutes from the site) is on the way too.
