Old-school and family-friendly, Muddycreek Farm is a pop-up site opening for four weeks in the summer to guests looking for a Hampshire holiday. The site is well placed for both woodland and seaside days, sitting as it does on the edge of the New Forest National Park (10 minutes’ drive) and within a short drive of the shingle beach at Milford on Sea (five minutes, or a 25-minute walk). From Milford on Sea, you can take a panoramic stroll along the cliffside path overlooking the colourful beach huts all the way to Barton on Sea (one hour and 20 minutes). There, you can take a breather on the pebble beach, where you might catch a glimpse of paragliders launching from the cliffs. The site had a laidback vibe and no set pitches, so guests can park and set up where they like, which means it’s easy to camp together with family and friends. Dogs are welcome guests, and campfires are allowed; best of all (arguably), Friday night is pizza night, with a local company serving up tasty wood-fired, stone-baked treats. Amenities at Muddycreek Farm include hot showers, proper flushing toilets and a washing-up area. There are no hidden extras; you're welcome to bring as many tents, gazebos and cars as you need.

Em va agradar Muddy Creek was a great find, by accident, I much prefer no set pitches, being able to pick a suitable spot, within reason, it’s more relaxed and, that’s the general feel of the campsite which is quiet, and really welcoming.
The bar is a lovely touch for a relaxed drink in the evening, along with the pizza truck, and breakfast box.
The location is great, a short walk to town and the beach, and a short drive to lots of things to see and do.
The owners are great, friendly, welcoming, and set the tone for the site.
I will definitely stay again, and would recommend.

No em va agradar I’m nitpicking, but if i had to list a negative it would be the men’s toilets, which, could probably do with upgrading.

Del gerent: Thank you for your review. We have since clarified what you meant by the lack of washing facilities, and understand that your wife would have preferred a wash basin within a private cubicle rather than using the showers.

We do provide wash hand basins in the ladies’ facilities and in our outdoor washing-up area, although these are not located within individual private cubicles. As a pop-up campsite, our facilities have to be completely removed at the end of our 28-day season, which does limit what we are able to provide compared with a permanent campsite.

We do, however, take great care to keep our facilities clean and provide unlimited free hot water in the showers, wash hand basins and washing-up areas.

We are sorry that the facilities did not meet your wife’s particular needs, although we do feel that describing the washing facilities as “inadequate” is rather unfair given the facilities we do provide.

The staff we encountered were so lovely and welcoming. The facilities were great. They were clean and all working. The grass was lovely anc short which pitching a lot easier.

Em va agradar Very welcoming and friendly. Lots of space between each set up. Showers were free and hot. Local pizza company there on the Friday I arrived and made great pizzas. The little bar was a great social area with a local ale and lovely cocktails. Small but nicely done.

Toilets clean.

Em va agradar Nice level site, good showers, though a bit of a walk from where we camped. Ideal for an overnight stop.

No em va agradar Entrance to campsite was difficult to spot, along the busy road, and was quite narrow for our med size van. Constant traffic noise, but thats sadly the case at many campsites these days.

We do have campsite signs up in the entrance and also provide very good directions in our information emails but as a temporary site we can’t have any other signage sadly.

I’m sorry that you found the road noisy. It isn’t a main road but it does seem to be increasingly busy but if traffic noise bothers you then you can camp the other end of the campsite where you can’t hear the road at all.

After approx 1 mile you will see the signpost of Milford on Sea village: you will need to turn immediately right at that point into the field access. Commissioned by Henry VIII, Hurst Castle occupies the tip of a spit of sand stretching into the Solent. A foot ferry from the village of Keyhaven (five minutes' drive) travels across a marshy landscape to the fortress, where the Tudor keep has great views of the Isle of Wight; you can also take the two-mile walking trail along the spit to get there. The pretty riverside harbour in Lymington (10 minutes) is flanked by a recreation ground, a yacht club and the Lymington Sea Water Swimming Baths, with a large floating obstacle course and paddleboarding sessions. Ferries travel from Lymington Pier to Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight. The Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum (15 minutes) has multiple halls, including one exhibiting the several hundred trophies won by this legendary Northern Irish motorcycle racer. Also on display are vintage bikes from Britain, Italy and Japan.
