No em va agradar Just making people aware, we have stayed here recently. It is not worth the money, very basic and not even a bit of storage within the pod to hang clothes up or even put your belongings on other than the floor.

More importantly we have since found out they do not have planning permission for the site to be open. They have been sent a notice just this week for closure!!

Dont waste your money here, much nicer places with more facilities and better value for money.

There were kids screaming and bouncing on a trampoline and making alot of noise when we arrived. No waste bins for poo bags for the dogs & there were no other facilities other than the pod itself and toilets and showers.

Considering how remote it is, you would atleast expect to be able to purchase a coffee or a sandwich in the morning.

We have to admit, we were genuinely taken aback reading this, especially given your message to us after your stay, where you said “yes we really did… we both slept really well” and that you had enjoyed the hot tub both in the evening and again the following morning.

Your public comments describing the stay as “not worth the money” and “very basic” don’t reflect what you communicated to us at the time, which makes this review quite confusing to read.

We have four pods and one lodge on site, each offering different levels of comfort and facilities. You chose to book our Forest Pod, which is our most basic, minimalist option and is priced accordingly. It is intentionally simple, offering a cosy space with just the essentials, including a kettle. Our other pods, which we can only assume may not have fallen within your budget — offer additional amenities such as outdoor cooking areas, heated seating, fridges, and in some cases private kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces. All of this is clearly outlined prior to booking.

You also mention “kids screaming and bouncing on a trampoline”. For clarity, we do have a designated children’s play area on site. However, the trampoline you are referring to is within our private garden, approximately two football pitches away from the pods, with fields and animals in between. Our children were indoors by 7pm preparing for bed and school the following morning, so this would not have impacted your evening.

We are particularly concerned by your statement that “they do not have planning permission… [and] have been sent a notice this week for closure”. We are operating fully within legal guidelines under an exemption whilst our full planning application is in progress with the local authority. Sharing this kind of misinformation is misleading.

As for comments regarding facilities such as shops or cafés, we are a small, rural, family-run site, not a commercial holiday park and this is clearly reflected in our listing, we do not advertise that we offer this, nor do we have any reviews stating this has been a service. Many guests choose us specifically for that quiet, off-grid setting.

We always welcome fair and constructive feedback. However, this review does not align with the experience you shared with us directly, nor with the experience the vast majority of our guests continue to enjoy.

Em va agradar Spacious motorhome pitch, lovely site! Felt rural and peaceful. Was lovely to see the animals and pet the pigs. The woodland park was brilliant for children to play on. The nature trail was really nice. Very clean and well maintained we will be stopping again soon.

No em va agradar The only downside there wasn’t a chemical disposal point to empty the cassette for the motorhome, this wasn’t too much of a problem as we only stayed for 2 nights.

Em va agradar Second camping for kids and they absolutely loved it. Animals, nature, peace. Best place to get away with family where u don't have to worry about kids that they'll be in any danger or get bored. Fire, beer, happy ppl! Booked again within couple of weeks after coming back.

Em va agradar Really lovely site, choice to pitch on woodland or field. We pitched up in the trees which was very nice. Kids loved the animals. Great forest playground and peaceful surroundings. We hired a fire pit and had a lovely evening watching the flames crackle. Well located, countryside enough to feel secluded but reasonably close to local shops and amenities. Friendly owner. No cars allowed on the field so children can move around safely (pro and a con, as means lots of trips to and fro shifting your gear!)

No em va agradar Just 1 sink in the women's toilets (don't know about the men's) which isn't enough considering people are all needing to brush their teeth etc.

Em va agradar Absolutely love this place, it's our favourite place to come to relax, staff are super friendly, offering help if you need it, shame about the weather but that can't be helped, had a fantastic time regardless, can't fault bowses hill whatsoever
