Partner said the gents could do with a good clean, expected at end of season.

No em va agradar Pricing where a large tent, vehicle and 6 plus people can share a camping pitch for 24£ yet a cyclist with a one man tent wasn't allowed to share a pitch with another cyclist with a one man tent because of 'health and safety'. We had to buy TWO pitches.
We were then directed to a field with no marked pitches and told, 'pitch wherever you want'
No provision for phone charging.
Lack of waste bins.

Del gerent: Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It's good to know that our receptionist was welcoming.
The permission granted for the unallocated camping field is based on pitches, not the number of people or the size of the tent. If the number of tents is exceeded we would be breaking our licence agreement and this is why it is not possible to have two or more small tents on one pitch. Having 'unallocated' space means that families and friends can get together to enjoy their camp even when the field is at its 'tent' capacity.
Reception will happily charge your phones during opening hours if asked.
Our rubbish bins are all located on the exit driveway away from the areas which are inhabited by guests. This is because our rural locality has an abundance of wildlife. Not only can bins attract wildlife but we are of the opinion that they are a blot on this beautiful landscape.

No em va agradar Many things are really helpful when cycle touring/camping, such as shorter grass, a few picnic benches around the field, a bin and another tap in the field. Also a socket to charge a phone in the toilet block would be really helpful. Most other campsites offer a backpacker rate which has been much appreciated. It was a pricey night for a small patch of long grass, but we had a lovely time, cycle camping with friends.

Health and safety doesn't allow electric sockets in wet areas for obvious reasons but phones are able to be charged in the reception building during opening hours.
The bins are positioned away from the pitches on purpose as waste attracts wildlife and bins are also a blot on this beautiful landscape. We hope to see you again.

Em va agradar Nice campsite and peacefull. Pitch size was excellent. Nice walks around the grounds and close to major towns.

No em va agradar Toilet facilities were ok, water not hot and the sinks were very high. The toilet facilities were small and would be busy during the high season.

Regarding wi-fi, our FAQ's, which can be read before booking, state that we have no wifi. Some guests enjoy being 'off grid' but we understand this doesn't suit everyone. However there is free wifi throughout the grounds of Castle Howard just 1 mile away.
