No em va agradar No organisation of where people pitched, some very close to each other which can lead to noise disturbance and also be a fire hazard.
Toilet and shower a useful addition but no way of cleaning after use left shower tray covered in grass and leaves.
I appreciate this sit is run as part of a charitable trust but some closer attraction to the pitching of Tents and cleaning of facilities would I believe encourage more repeat visits.

Firstly, just to correct one point — we are not a charitable trust. I’m not sure where that information has come from, but it is completely incorrect.

We do have numbered pitches, and guests are expected to use their allocated pitch sensibly and considerately. We are a small campsite, and it simply isn’t practical or financially viable to have a warden walking around the site monitoring where every person puts their tent or how they behave.

We provide the pitches and the facilities; what we cannot provide is common sense.

If guests choose to pitch too close to others, make excessive noise or ignore basic consideration for their neighbours, that is unfortunately down to the individuals involved. We cannot be expected to supervise adults throughout their stay.

The same applies to the toilet and shower facilities. Yes, we provide them and yes, we expect them to be kept clean. But if somebody walks into a shower covered in grass and leaves and then leaves the mess behind, that is a guest responsibility, not a failure of the campsite. We cannot realistically clean the shower after every single person uses it.

We are always happy to take genuine constructive criticism on board and improve things where improvements are reasonably possible. However, there also has to be a degree of responsibility from the people staying here.

We are a small, independently run campsite — not a fully staffed holiday park with wardens and cleaners following guests around. We rely on people behaving responsibly, respecting other campers and leaving shared facilities as they would expect to find them.

We’re sorry that your experience wasn’t what you hoped for, but some of the issues raised are ultimately caused by the behaviour and lack of consideration of individual guests, rather than the lack of facilities or organisation on our part.

We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback and will continue to do what we reasonably can to make the site enjoyable for everyone

Only 3 loos and a shower but very clean and a small site so no big queues

Em va agradar Not being to restricted where you pitch your tent Andrew was very helpful and checked we were all right a couple of times throughout the stay witch was nice as we have to young lads and it was there first camping experience.

Em va agradar Our first time taking our 10 month away. We loved how easy it was to book, how quiet it was and our son loved seeing the farm animals. Will definitely come here again.

Em va agradar This site was overall absolutely lovely. We came for just under a week in our caravan and were able to have family book as well and pitch up very close to us in their tent. We had lots of space for the kids to play and the views were spectacular.

The weather was great but worth noting that as you're high up with excellent views, that also comes with very windy weather!

Other reviews have mentioned a lot of noise from farm animals, this site is surrounded by working farm land, so you do get a bit of noise from livestock, but we quite liked that, and loved being visited by 3 very friendly cats!

The facilities here, as noted by other campers, are fairly basic, which was fine when using a combination of caravan and site facilities, but we would have struggled a bit for any length of time in just a tent. Will absolutely be back to this site, thanks for a lovely stay.

No em va agradar These things wouldn't stop us from coming back, but compared to a number of other sites we've visited over the last couple of years, the facilities at this one don't quite live up to the tariff. We stayed for 6 nights and by our the 3rd night (at a weekend in summer holidays, the site was busy) the toilet block had run out of toilet roll so we took our own down, and there was no hand wash from the start. (We did have a message from the owner at the start of our stay, so I'm sure I could have messaged them about this, but to be honest it didn't really occur to me until the end of our trip.)

Also we didn't need to use the washing up facilities much as we used our caravan, and while we stayed we had lovely weather, but these were not under cover so would have been a bit miserable to use in the rain.

Overall, for the price I think the wash block could do with a little bit of TLC (or at least checking by the site owner more regularly in busier times).

Em va agradar Loved the space on the pitches .the driveway was a bit bumpy was lovley seeing all the animals from our caravan and a crazy cockeral.lovley countryside views.visited bakewell and matlock all close by defo reccomend. So easy srlf check in.csnt comment on loos or shower we had our own.

Em va agradar Quiet, not over crowded. Left to our own devices, didnt feel like the site was being micromanaged.
Beautiful scenery and views. Very remote location.

No em va agradar Facilities could be better. Only 2 toilets and 1 shower. Clean enough to use but never any soap etc.
Pitch wasn't flat, which made pitching tent a bit trickier.
Only 1 bin for whole site which was quite full.
Also quite far from any amenities, shops, pubs etc
