What a gorgeous spot for a break in the fresh air of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park. With spectacular mountain views, Cae Du Campsite sits on the banks of the River Glaslyn less than a mile from pretty Beddgelert, a hub for walking trails with several pubs, cafés and craft shops. The village is also a stop on the narrow-gauge Welsh Mountain Railway running between Porthmadog and Caernarfon. What’s more, Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon is just up the road, it’s five minutes’ drive to the Watkin Path trailhead and you’ll pass spectacular Llyn Dinas lake (wild swim anyone?) on the way. Tired after whichever outing you chose? There’s plenty of space to relax back at the park, and you should hopefully sleep well in these peaceful surroundings. A washing-up area, launderette and bathrooms with toilets and showers are on hand to make life comfortable, and you can bring a barbecue or light a campfire to finish your day in traditional camping style. Hire firepits (subject to availability) and buy logs, kindling and firelighters from reception between 9.30am and 5pm. And as the emphasis here is on total relaxation, Cae Du Campsite has a strict rule that music must be turned off and noise kept to a minimum after 9.30pm.

喜欢: A very warm reception which is a great set up. Lovely site, well laid out and great facilities. Beddgelert is 15 minutes walk away for good grub pubs.

喜欢: Cae Du is just perfect, idyllic surroundings, clean and safe environment for children, with just a short walk to Beddgelert, we love it so much, about to book again!

喜欢: Great location, staff were great, well kept site. Beddgelert a 10 minute walk away. Ideal. Great location for walkers and cyclists.

不喜欢: Showers and toilets slightly dated. When heading to site, use site name and not post code as sat nav sends you up narrow road before site (Cambrian way) very tricky in a campervan!!

喜欢: Lovely grounds, and the pitch sizes are very generous. Very peaceful in the evenings. Nice and clean, hot showers for after our hike.
Also found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be returning soon.

喜欢: So many things! We had the warmest of welcomes at reception, everyone was very really helpful and everything was easy.
The fire pit hire was really good and saves having to pack your own if you are short on space.

The views are truly stunning. We loved the short walk into Beddgelert along the river. Bedgelert itself is lovely. It’s not big but has a really good range of places to eat and treat. A good range of vegan options too.

We found a picturesque walk that was just perfect for our family (a mix of ability and enthusiasm for walking 😂), we all loved it!

The campsite is very well kept, the showers, toilets and wash area were clean and spacious, great for camping!

Whilst it was on the more expensive side of campsites we researched, we took a punt and were very happy with our choice. We felt it was worth the money for last minute Bank Holiday weekend stay.

喜欢: A wonderful stay! The campsite was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It was peaceful and quiet—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

不喜欢: £55 for one night felt quite expensive, especially compared to similar sites.

喜欢: The campsite is located at a good location nearing Beddgelert, where is a village with good supplies of food and drink. The campsite is also near the starting point of Ranger Path to Snowdon.

The facilities are great with electric pitch, WiFi and clean washrooms. A 5-star campground.

喜欢: Beautiful pitch with stunning views, enjoyed having the evening sun.
A great location for exploring, loved that the site had its only little river walk for a morning/evening stretch of the legs for the dog.
Easily walkable to the village where there was plenty of food/drink and shops to explore. We didn’t have time to look into a trip on the steam train, but would love to go back!
Highly recommend the Aberglasslyn Pass walk, which you can do from the campsite.
We also ventured to nearby Black Rock Sands, beautiful beach which you can drive into.
Toilet and Shower block were good, lovely hot shower and kept nice and clean.
Campsite had a family zone for balls games which was nice as it kept it away from pitches and disturbing others.

Families can inspire their kids with a love of nature on a stroll along the Aberglaslyn Gorge straight from the campsite. Seasoned hikers might make for the start of the Watkin Path (five minutes’ drive), one of them more challenging routes up Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon, or search out strenuous scrambles up Glyder Fawr (20 minutes). If you’re looking for more unusual activities, Zip World Llechwedd (35 minutes) will appeal with its zipwires and subterranean golf course. Perhaps that’s a bit too high octane for your offspring? Head for Llyn Dinas (15 minutes’ walk) for wild swimming and paddleboarding, or laze on the beach at Porthmadog (25 minutes). Slip a slice of Eryri heritage into your holiday with a wander around the museum at Sygun Copper Mine (five minutes’ walk, there’s a playground for younger kids too), or enjoy history-tinged meanders around the castles at Criccieth (25 minutes’ drive) and Caernarfon (half an hour). And don’t forget to pay your respects at Gelert’s Grave (15 minutes’ walk), the final resting place of a faithful dog once companion to the medieval Prince Llewelyn the Great.
