Foodies who fancy a farm break, step this way… Bovey's Down Farm is a place where it’s possible to eat very well indeed. This rural site on a working beef farm in the East Devon National Landscape, 10 minutes’ drive from Honiton. And with that setting comes some splendid feasting material: pick up home-cooked cakes, pies, traditional pasties and homemade burgers from the farmhouse kitchen to eat at the picnic area, or settle in for drinks, lunches, cream teas and evening meals in the tea room or beer garden. You can also acquire bread, ribeye steaks and gluten-free sausages from the site for an evening barbecue or campfire brekkie. Once suitably fed and watered, there’s plenty to do nearby: you can get down to the Devon coast (and the resorts of Sidmouth and Seaton) in about 15 minutes’ drive, get out and about for walks/bike rides on the many country lanes and bridleways in the area or play a round of golf a couple of miles away. Getting a taste of farm life is pretty straightforward too: guests can join owner Gerald for a walking tour to meet the Aberdeen Angus cattle, ducks and hens and pick up tips on the wildlife that can be spotted around the place (lots of birdlife and the occasional fox or badger…) Facilities on site include toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a wifi connection to help you plan all those days out.

The tearoom and bar/restaurant are closed from 23 December to 03 January, the shop is open during this period from 3pm to 5pm, except on 25 and 26 December. Farm cider sales are possible at any time.

不喜欢 I thought the price for a night camping, after adding 10 pounds for electric and another 10 pounds for an awning was too high.
And travelling as a single and having to pay for two doesn’t seem fair.

不喜欢 Pitches too small, felt cramped in, site too small to accommodate the number of campers. Not enough toilet/shower facilities.

We are sorry the site didn't live up to your expectations & felt cramped, which is difficult for us to understand as all pitches are measured at 25ft sq. // 7.62m sq., maybe another camper cramped your style and located onto your area .
As it was a super sunny bank holiday for your one night stay everyone was hoping to enjoy the great outdoors.
Anyway, we apologise and wish you had spoken about this at the time and could have been sorted by moving you as not all spaces were filled. Please do come again and enjoy the hospitality of our team and surroundings.

喜欢 Stayed in the little retro Caroline caravan last week. Very cool and loved that they provided a fire pit with wood and a bbq. Staff are brilliant and always there to help.

不喜欢 Camping pitches aren't level , felt over crowded with huge tents all on top of each other , allowing fires next to others tents , mine unfortunately got burnt via a neighbour having a fire

Once you’ve met the animals on site, get set to say hi to some more furry pals at The Donkey Sanctuary (10 minutes’ drive) before greeting some rather more exotic beasts at Axe Valley Wildlife Park (20 minutes) and Yarak Birds of Prey (half an hour). Trading countryside for coast is a fine idea for a day or two as well – it’ll take you around 15 minutes to drive down to Seaton or Sidmouth for beach days, paddles and strolls on the South West Coast Path. Lovely Lyme Regis (25 minutes) is another fab option – sign up for fishing trips here and you might be lucky enough to take home a fistful of mackerel for tea. Got a bit more time to fill? How about a day of horse riding (five minutes), floral wanders at Burrow Farm Gardens (20 minutes) and Bicton Park Botanical Gardens (25 minutes) or a whole heap of outdoor rides, indoor soft play areas and shows at Crealy Theme Park (half an hour)? Lyme Bay Winery is 20 minutes away too, should you need a tipple to go with your evening barbecue…
