Brilliant site, lovely people , charming and beautiful part of England
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Only stayed a couple of nights , non electric camping with motorbike
From the get go felt welcomed
Lovely,lovely friendly people
Large separate field field for camping , with widely spaced designated pitches ( but had the field all to myself first night and only one other the second)
Could park my bike next to my tent
Very nice view of the Farway valley with distant baaing sheep
Beautiful semi overgrown but accessible wooded area behind me , very cool when the sun got too hot
Quite a variety of singing and calling birds including nuthatches ,goldcrest and pheasant , unfortunately didn’t get to see the pheasants on this occasion but happily watched a pair of spotted flycatchers calling to one another
Pretty short walk to the very clean toilet and shower facilities
A couple of nearby taps for drinking water
Lovely well laid out tea room / restaurant with a covered outdoor seating area as well .Can recommend the bacon baps ! Service with a smile and beautifully cooked and prepared food
Reasonable mobile phone and adequate 4G internet reception ( O2)
Pretty close ( 10 minute drive) to the utterly charming and genteel resort of Sidmouth, the wonderful and beautifully inspiring Donkey Sanctuary at Salcombe Regis ,the pretty mouth of the Axe estuary at Seaton with yachts and wading birds and the spectacular Jurassic coastline east of Lyme Regis where you can idle away a few hours hoping to find another fossilized remains of a Plesiosaurus !
From a biker’s point of view the road between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis via Seaton and Axmouth is magnificent , incredibly well surfaced, smooth with not a pot hole to be seen, some lovely sweeping bendy sections , not too busy and some fine views
Overall a very serene,peaceful atmosphere
An amazing sunset while I was there
Disliked These aren’t really dislikes as I 100% loved my stay but in the interests of giving an honest view there are a couple of things people might regard as negative
The camping field was a little sloping ( but then you don’t get great valley views if you aren’t on a hill ! )
Cost of camping to me seemed quite high compared to some other sites ( and same price solo as for two) but for a quality experience with great facilities for me was worth it
Again restaurant for me seemed quite pricey but again was top quality ,beautifully prepared and lovely service
Nearby road was pretty busy and could be quite noisy but it didn’t bother me particularly as after a little while I got used to it and not much the owners can do about it !

A lovely site with cows, chickens, and geese!
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This site had a lovely atmosphere!
On site tea room, serving a range of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea, drinks. Very delicious 😋
Small range of produce to buy.
Shower and toilet facilities good, clean. Separate area for disabled access/baby change.
Plenty of spacious pitches.
Forest area to the back for children to play.
Communal fridge, freezer, washing machine, and microwave for campers.
Lovely hosts, we met Olivia and Abbey, they were always happy to help, and very friendly.
Disliked A lot of the site is on quite a hill, so could be an issue on the pitches that are steep.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Nice site with great views. Facilities a little "rustic" but cleaned regularly. A nice bar/restaurant on site which does an excellent Sunday roast. The best thing about the site is the hospitality - everyone working there is friendly and does their best to help.
Disliked Road noise can be quite loud but that is not something the site can do anything about.
