Fabulous scenery meets fascinating history in the area around Greencarts – this peaceful Northumberland spot is in the lovely North Tyne Valley, tucked away between the Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines National Landscape. With spectacular countryside all around and the excellent Hadrian’s Wall just up the road too, it should make a nice stopover for walkers and cyclists. There are seven acres of camping grounds available at this working farm, so there’s plenty of space to go around. All sorts of guests are welcome here, including families, dog owners and groups, but please remember that this is a place that values peace and quiet – it’s not somewhere that tolerates groups that want to drink and make noise. Facilities on site include picnic tables, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and a washing-up area, and you’ll have access to bathroom facilities that include wheelchair-accessible areas. A small number of fire baskets are available to hire on site for cosy campfire evenings; those who’d rather be indoors for the evening can head to the pub five minutes’ drive away in Humshaugh. The village also has a shop, and there are supermarkets 15 minutes’ drive away in Hexham. Hadrian’s Wall is the big attraction around here, and you can hardly miss it – some of its top spots (including the Temple of Mithras and Housesteads Roman Fort) are within 10 minutes’ drive. Greencarts also makes a great base for walks in the national park, outings to Kielder Water and touring grand estates like those at Belsay Hall and Cragside.

喜欢 Lovely simple campsite. Big field with lots of space and wonderful views. Great location for walking. Owner is super friendly and helpful.
Basic clean facilities but it was never overcrowded.

不喜欢 Unfortunately no nearby pubs you can walk to but apparently pizzas can be delivered.

喜欢 Lovely campsite in a great location. The site was clean and well maintained, and the toilets and facilities were really clean throughout our stay. A peaceful and enjoyable place to stay, and we would definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

喜欢 We loved how relaxed and spacious the site was, not too busy and you could just pitch where you liked. There were basic but decent facilities, washing machine, clean toilets and showers and some plugs to charge your phone. No strict rules or signs, and we felt really comfortable and welcomed there. Everyone seemed respectful and friendly. It was a nice, easy walk to see Hadrian's wall, with numerous sites nearby. We had a lovely, relaxing stay here and it was really good value for money. Great family site - we didn't bring kids but the kids there seemed to be having an absolute ball and making friends.

喜欢 Great place for a peaceful time away. Clean and good amenities for all and upon arrival was greeted by the owner who was very polite and welcoming and explained everything to us. Great price for the standard of the site. Could easily charge more for how good it is. It was quite busy when we stayed but no noise or disrespectful ppl staying there. Would stay again if in the area definitely.

喜欢 Nice friendly atmosphere on farm and prices arecvery reasonable. Had a great two days at Greencarts with my my grandsons. There is plenty room on the large field to pitch up and lovely clean facilities. Hadrians wall and turret 29 is just a half a mile. Definitely going again
