喜欢 Great location great views of pen-y-ghent. Train line runs next to the site but wasn't that noticable and my daughter loved seeing them. A very chilled out site and facilities are good. You can choose where you pitch and there's plenty of space across a couple of fields. Main facilities and showers are at the farm but there are a few cabin toilets dotted around down the other fields with a simple wash up sink. All are cleaned and topped up daily. You can park your car on your pitch which is great, unless you want to camp in the small field with picnic benches, no cars are allowed on this section. Not too far to walk to the nearest pub, can easily be done within half an hour. Dog friendly and child friendly (my daughter is 14 months old and this was her 1st camping trip)

喜欢 Loads of space. Plenty of room for everyone.
Relaxed atmosphere. Not loads of rules but everyone respected quiet times and kept the shared facilities clean.
Great location for walking and admiring the views.
Amazing value for money considering the facilities available - hot showers, lots of water taps around the site, plenty of loos and loo roll.

不喜欢 We booked this site as part of a large group of different families as a few of them had been before and recommend.
Unfortunately no sooner had we got there and out of the car a very rude man approached demanding that we go straight to the farmhouse to pay. This is all well and good and I had no issues in doing so, but the manner of which he approached and spoke to the group was absolutely disgusting!
He was rude, abrupt and also swore in front of numerous young children, which in itself is absolutely disgusting.
We all went to the farmhouse and was met by a lovely lady and paid for our stay but because of the disgusting manner we was met with, unfortunately I cannot recommend this site and will never return!

不喜欢 We recently stayed at this campsite with several families, some of whom were taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge. We had visited before, had a lovely experience, and recommended the site to our friends, so we were really looking forward to coming back.

We arrived separately as different families, found our pitch, and had only been unpacking for around 10 minutes when a very aggressive gentleman came marching towards us. He immediately asked, “Who’s in charge of this group?” and said, “I’m f**king sick of people like this.” The group pointed him towards me, as I had recommended the site after a previous stay.

As a woman, I have never experienced a man trying to intimidate me in the way he did. He walked straight up to me and aggressively said, “Go to the farmhouse, all of you, and fking pay. If you don’t go up there now, you can get the fk off.”

This all happened in front of our children, ranging from just 14 months old to 9 years old. It was completely unacceptable.

I explained that we had every intention of paying and had already brought the cash with us, as that had always been the plan. Instead of listening, he repeated that unless we went immediately to pay, we could “get off the f**king land.” He insisted it was on the booking confirmation and on the sign when you enter.

Having looked back afterwards, I can see there is a small A4 sign at the entrance directing guests to the farmhouse, and I also realised I hadn’t fully read my booking confirmation before arriving. That was my mistake, and I completely accept that (as o had arrived late on the previous booking we had called ahead and they had said just to drive to the farm house to check in so I didn’t have anything to compare to). However, making a genuine mistake does not justify being sworn at, intimidated, or spoken to in such an aggressive manner. A simple, polite request to go and pay would have achieved exactly the same outcome, we would have gone straight away, as every family had already brought cash specifically to pay on arrival.

When we went to the farmhouse, the lady taking the payments was friendly and polite, and we appreciated the way she spoke to us. Unfortunately, her kindness did not make up for the aggressive and intimidating behaviour of the male member of management we had encountered just moments before.

It’s such a shame because the campsite itself is lovely. It’s clean, well-kept, and we genuinely had a great time once we were settled. However, the behaviour we experienced on arrival completely overshadowed the start of our stay and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived.

Afterwards, I read the Google reviews because I genuinely hoped this was an isolated incident. Sadly, it isn’t. There are numerous reviews describing very similar experiences with the same aggressive and intimidating behaviour, which is disappointing to see.

Because of how we were treated, we won’t be returning, and I couldn’t recommend the campsite to others despite how lovely the site itself is.

喜欢 This was our second visit, and we loved the location. It is a great distance from the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and the campsite itself is peaceful, quiet and has good basic facilities that did the job perfectly for us.

不喜欢 Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the extremely hostile and poor manner of the host.

We booked the campsite alongside several friends and were excited for a nice weekend away. We had all booked separately, but naturally wanted to pitch close to one another, particularly as we were unsure how busy the campsite would become.

While we were starting to set up, we were approached by a visibly angry gentleman who demanded to know who the organiser of our group was. There was no organiser, as we were simply a group of friends who had made individual bookings.

A few of us approached him to explain, but he stood shouting at us, red faced and shaking, demanding to know how we dared start pitching before paying. We immediately apologised and tried to explain that we only wanted to make sure we could camp near one another. Before we could finish, he threatened to throw us off the campsite unless we went to pay immediately.

We fully accept that the rules require guests to pay before pitching, and we were more than happy to do so. However, the way the situation was handled was completely unnecessary. Between us, we had booked approximately £6/700 worth of pitches, and we were left shocked and upset by the way we were spoken to. Our children were also distressed by an angry man shouting at the adults in their group.

All it would have taken was a polite request such as, “Hello, could anyone who has not yet paid please follow me to the house before continuing to pitch?”

Instead, we were met with hostility, aggression and extremely poor hospitality. It is a shame because this could have been a fantastic campsite, but after the way we were treated, we will not be returning.
