Sunnyside Campsite is a peaceful one-acre site with spacious grassy pitches surrounded by ash trees and hawthorn bushes. This small-scale meadow is also easily accessible by public transport – Brampton station is a 10-minute cycle or 30-minute walk from base. This fab farm site has a nature pond, kids' play area and a tumbledown old stable that houses the spick and span toilets and water point. Other handy facilities here include a washing-up point and use of a shared fridge freezer. Campfires and barbecues are allowed (as long as they're raised off the ground). Firepits are available to hire on site, and logs and charcoal can also be bought from the little honesty shop. Fish suppers are on the cards on Thursdays, when fresh local seafood is sold from a visiting van. Sunnyside Campsite is in a prime location for cyclists, who can set out on long or short-distance pedals along National Cycle Route 1 that passes at the end of the lane. Walkers and folk who like messing around in boats also have lots of options here – the Suffolk coastline can be reached in under 20 minutes' drive, while the Norfolk Broads are under a half hour away. The site is a few minutes' stroll from a friendly community pub and a village play area. Cafés, restaurants and a larger supermarket are all in Halesworth (10 minutes' drive).

喜欢 Large pitches, had plenty of space for tent and car while still being far enough away from neighboring pitches. Beautiful field closed in by trees, liked the wildness of it all, lots of wildlife to see and hear. Hosts were fantastic, said hello to us on arrival and told us about the site and facilities. Toilets and shower are fine for a 'back to basics' campsite, kept very clean and tidy. Shower can lose pressure for a short time if someone flushes a toilet or turns a tap on, but other than that everything was fantastic! Had no complaints. The only small issue i came across was the shower not working on our 2nd morning, but reported this to the hosts and it was fixed immediately (a breaker had tripped). Couldnt ask for more.

喜欢 This was our 5th camp at Sunnyside and we still absolutely love it! It’s perfect for the kids with the play equipment, feels like a really safe site, beautiful walks nearby, a great local pub, and lovely owners. We’ll be back again :)

喜欢 Beautiful site, very spacious pitches set round a meadow. Lovely children’s play area and walks from the site. Just a five minute walk to the Racehorse Inn where we had a delicious meal.

喜欢 The site has everything you need, if you want to go back to basics its perfect, if ylu wnat hone from home thats catered for to.

Pitches are a great size, toilet and showers kept really clean. Its a lovely quite site that happly accepts children and dogs.

The sandy beach at Southwold (20 minutes) is dominated by the white bulk of the 19th-century Southwold Lighthouse and lined by colourful wooden huts. Stroll along the long pier, stopping for ice cream or fish and chips, then head into town and the Southwold Museum for a primer on local history. With their reed-lined ponds and shallow lagoons, the marshes of RSPB Minsmere (30 minutes) are home to avocets, curlews and marsh harriers – plus the occasional (but elusive) otter. Just up the coast from there, National Trust - Dunwich Heath and Beach becomes a colourful riot of purple heather in the summer. The tall spire of the cathedral in Norwich (45 minutes) is visible from far and wide. Explore the interior of this splendid 11th-century church, strolling through the cloisters and the choir, where (if you’re lucky) you might meet Budge, the cathedral cat. The Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell explores the history of the area.
