Nosing around for a north Norfolk break that is well-based for countryside walks, crabbing, cruising The Broads and chilling at the beach? Try Meadow View Camping and Caravan Site, a family-friendly site on the coast just two miles from Mundesley. To be precise, it’s just a 40-minute walk (or a five-minute drive) from its beach and Victorian seafront, where there are beach huts. The site is in a peaceful Norfolk village called Trunch. You might be quite familiar with the place by the end of your stay – and happily so – because it has a social club hosting live music and two beer festivals per year, as well as a welcoming pub with fodder, beer, good music and other events. As if that isn't enough already, the village also has countryside walks, a playing field and a 15th-century church. No need to leave furry family members behind at Meadow View Camping and Caravan Site, as it's dog-friendly. Barbecues and firepits are also both welcome (just note that only firepits hired from Meadow View are permitted). You should have plenty of good tales for the firepit, with there being so many beaches nearby: Trimingham (10 minutes’ drive), Cromer (15 minutes) and Sheringham (25 minutes), for example. Walcott beach, 10 minutes' drive away, is a fine choice, with a café, ice cream parlour, fish and chips shop and a post office with a shop all along the seafront. In Mundesley, there are pubs, restaurants, cafés, takeaways, another social club, arcades, miniature golf, a petrol station and a supermarket – very handy indeed. Just remember that this is a rural location next to a working farm, so there are likely to be country smells and sounds at times.

喜欢 Amazing campsite, massive area leaving plenty of pitch space for everyone. Christine the owner was so friendly.

不喜欢 Only complaint would be the men's and unisex showers, the intermittent one went cold, and the electric one waves from boiling to freezing.

喜欢 Cute little campsite, Christine and family so lovely and helpful. Only a 7 minute drive to shops and the beach, with free parking at the beach after 6pm! Relaxing, peaceful getaway.

喜欢 The owner was very helpful and welcoming including helping to get my pegs out the ground, the facility’s were really clean and good location as a base for our days out . Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to everyone

喜欢 Lovely site and we had a great week. Here are the positives:
😊 Large pitches, plenty of space (EHU pitch allocated on arrival)
😊 Huge flat field with loads of space to play and football goals
😊 Good clean facilities - never had to wait for toilet or shower. Lovely warm water and heaters available in showers. Also nice space to change with hooks, benches, shelves.
😊 Friendly and helpful owners, on hand if needed but leave you to it after check in
😊 Close to lots of lovely beaches, villages and towns
😊 Check out 12pm plenty of time to pack up (check in 1pm)
😊 Good road access, no road noise from our pitch
😊 Freezer for freezer blocks
😊 Fire pits available - though understandably weren't in use after the recent dry conditions
😊 Good waste and recycling facilities including bin for broken camping equipment
😊 Generally peaceful (apart from our neighbours 🥴) but everyone quiet at night.

不喜欢 Only one washing up sink so some queuing for that, but was clean and sheltered.

喜欢 Christine was very helpful when we arrived, thank you. The site is large so nobody was on top of each other and very well maintained. The Crown Inn is 5 minutes walk up the road. Very little outside noise from the road. Worth a visit

不喜欢 Nothing apart from an extra sink to wash up in would be handy.

喜欢 The owner was lovely and made sure check in was smooth, we could pitch where we liked and even though she was fully booked there was lots of space. Facilities were always clean, never really had to wait for toilets or showers.

When it comes to getting stuck into the north Norfolk coast, you might want to get a tick list going…there’s Overstrand beach and Walcott beach to see and crabbing on the pier in Cromer (all within 15 minutes' drive). Keep ticking them off: the lighthouse in Happisburgh (20 minutes), seal spotting at Blakeney Point (40 minutes) and Waxham (35 minutes) or sandy beaches at Sea Palling (half an hour) and Wells-next-the-Sea (55 minutes). The latter has a gorgeous fishing port running seal-watching trips. Inland’s just as excellent. There’s a generous handful of National Trust properties within driving distance, plus ways to get out onto The Broads in Wroxham (half an hour). You might want to board the Bure Valley Railway there or join The North Norfolk Steam Railway in Sheringham (25 minutes). For all you budding historians, Weybourne (half an hour) has the Muckleburgh Military Collection too. Family-friendly ventures are easily sourced, with various entertainments in North Walsham (10 minutes), treetop adventures at BeWILDerwood Norfolk (half an hour) and all the attractions in Great Yarmouth (50 minutes) like Pleasure Beach, Britannia Pier and Sea Life Great Yarmouth.
