A river – the small and shallow River East Onny – runs through The Green Caravan Park in Shropshire. That means that your days here can be spent paddling and fishing: pick up a cheap net at the site shop and keep your little shrimps entertained for hours for mere pennies. Once you've all dried off, nature spotting is up next at the area set aside as a nature wilderness. The Green Caravan Park covers 15 acres of Onny Valley countryside in a National Landscape between the Long Mynd and Stiperstones Hills: it’s no wonder it’s been called ‘a little gem’ by previous happy campers. On site is a play area and plenty of space for bike riding or outdoor games. Dogs can stretch their paws at the dog walk and exercise area (just please keep dogs on leads in other areas of the park and clear up after them in all areas). Food is well covered too: the popular family-friendly Inn on the Green serves home-cooked food and is directly accessible from the park (pre-booking is highly recommended), and there are several country inns in the local area – steak and ale pies at The Crown get a particular thumbs up.

喜欢 Loved the caravan park layout, the variety of things on offer including books and board games. The river runs through the site and my children and dog really enjoyed paddling through it, end to end.
The toilet and shower block were clean and tidy. The owners were lovely and gave me a lot of information about the local area and a map with local walks on. The site is well kept and looks invested in with a new park and robot cleaners and mowers.

喜欢 We liked everything about this site. We were welcomed warmly, given information & a quick guide of the site. Everything was in good order, the showers & toilets clean. There was a washing up area with washing machines.

喜欢 Very nice campsite a lot bigger than I thought. All pitches flat and some are on a terrace.Toilets old but very clean good showers with plenty of hot water which is adjustable. There's a path that leads to the pub on the green well worth a visit,we had a large garmon steak two eggs peas and chips for £14.85 the best pub meal we have ever had. Shop just across the road selling just the basics. The Wardens are really friendly and helpful and will give you plenty of info. Didn't go out anywhere else just relaxed on the site. WiFi only available by the reception. The site is out in the sticks.

喜欢 Very very helpful staff. We had an issue with our camper, and the man came to help us fix it. They were very welcoming on arrival, and directed us to our pitch. Also, they were very understanding of our requirements.
Theres swings and a football set up for the older kids, and a smaller play area for the younger ones. A lovely little shelter/barn with games incase its raining also, and picnic benches inside. The river is a big plus with lots of wildlife, and a place for dogs to have a paddle.

Many visitors to The Green Caravan Park come for Shropshire strolls around the calm country lanes and hills, along the Offa’s Dyke path or from nearby village Wentnor. The park is between the Stiperstone Hills and the Long Mynd, which make up the biggest area of heathland in the Shropshire hills: walk the five and a half miles of the Stiperstone Ridge from the Knolls car park for magnificent views towards the Long Mynd. Folk flock to the area for the birdwatching too: keep an eye out for red kites, plovers and buzzards around the Stiperstones, which is a national nature reserve. This is also castle country: Stokesay, Powis, Montgomery, Clun and Ludlow castles are all within easy driving distance. Have a wander around the festival and foodie town of Ludlow after seeing the castle or see the castle, abbey and over 660 listed buildings of medieval town Shrewsbury, both half an hour away. Industrialists will be kept busy at nearby Snailbeach Lead Mine and historic Ironbridge and the Ironbridge Gorge Museums about 15 miles from Shrewsbury: this World Heritage Site site should keep even the urchins happy, especially going back in time to Blists Hill Victorian Town or creeping down the old Tar Tunnel. Closer to your pitch but dating from further away in time, Bury Ditches Iron Age hill fort is between Clun and Bishop's Castle: go on to the latter for more walks, access to the Shropshire Way and the country’s oldest brewery, the Three Tuns. Well-behaved urchins can be rewarded at several family-friendly Shropshire attractions: if they liked Ironbridge they’ll probably be fond of the historic working farm at the Acton Scott estate, featured on the BBC’s Victorian Farm, or getting close to the natives at Telford’s Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom.
