No children, but plenty of wildlife – and a field of horses as your nearest neighbours… It’s all a very relaxed and peaceful experience at adults-only Francis Fields, in rural Oxfordshire about five minutes’ drive from the market town of Deddington. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind, perhaps taking a stroll around the farm to meet the horses and ponies (ask on site if you’d like a proper introduction), finding a spot for a picnic or just chilling out in a deckchair with a drink of your choice and soaking up the uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. It’s not just the human guests that appreciate this location – other visitors often include foxes, badgers, deer, owls and birds of prey, all of which you might catch sight of if you tread carefully or sit quietly enough. As an adults-only site children are not allowed to stay here, but travelling horses and dogs are welcome. The local pub, 10 minutes’ walk away, is also a dog-friendly place – and with tasty food and a good range of beers into the bargain. More shops and pubs are up in Deddington, along with a monthly farmers’ market. Back on site, you’ll be staying on a gently sloping field where pitches are mown into the wild grass. Solar lighting illuminates each pitch, the access track and the toilet and shower areas, and there are firepits to hire for a nice warm alfresco evening.

喜欢 The enclosed pitch size was great, it fit 2 campers and an awning on with plenty of room to spare. It was really good to be able to give the dogs freedom to run around and the site wasn't so busy that they were barking at everything.
The hot outdoor/indoor showers were great but I imagine they'd be a bit breezy in the colder months. It was clean and quiet and the rural location was great for viewing the stars at night.
I found the signal a bit dodgy but did come across the wifi password in the first aid hut, worked perfectly from my pitch.

喜欢 Designated pitch with wooden bench so plenty of space between campers.

Clean facilities. There are two unisex toilets and two unisex showers. Plenty of hooks and one seat inside the shower cubicles.

Two sinks for washing available with hot water.

Firepit available to hire.

Information hut where you can charge your phones. Books available to read as well

Automatic gate to enter and exit the location.

Very secluded and peaceful location.

喜欢 There are so many things I liked about this campsite. The allocated pitches with enough spaces between you and your neighbours. The very clean toilets / showers and washing up area. The fact that you can have an area fenced in for your dogs. The views of countryside and beautiful horses! Will def be coming back next year.

喜欢 A quiet, relaxing, friendly site with ample space for a pitch and car. Access into and around the site is great. Very good toilets, showers and wash-up facilities. Wonderful night sky gazing with little light pollution.

喜欢 Very peaceful. Beautiful views, nicely laid out pitches which felt private. Great facilities which were spotless.
2 toilets. 2 showers. Washing up facilities and rubbish/recycling. Dog friendly pitches and dog waste disposal.
Super farm walk around the fields.
This is a great little site. Perfect for a peaceful break away from noise and hustle and bustle. Will certainly return.

Staying at Francis Fields, you’ll be just on the edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, putting you within easy reach of lots of gorgeous walking and cycling routes (and a good number of country pubs to stop at…) Some favourite options nearby include walks around the Rollright Stones, or a grander tour of Broughton Castle (both 20 minutes’ drive). Even grander are the lavish stately home and landscaped gardens (designed by Capability Brown, no less) at Blenheim Palace (15 minutes). If your current togs aren’t up to scratch for such things, hit the outlet stores at Bicester Village (20 minutes). The Cotswolds Distillery (25 minutes) is another good place to shop, with a café and distillery tours on offer too. Other days out nearby might take you into Oxford (half an hour) to tour the colleges and museums or try your hand at the art of punting, or to the high-speed action at the Silverstone circuit (35 minutes).
