No children, but plenty of wildlife – and a field of horses as your nearest neighbours… It’s all a very relaxed and peaceful experience at adults-only Francis Fields, in rural Oxfordshire about five minutes’ drive from the market town of Deddington. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind, perhaps taking a stroll around the farm to meet the horses and ponies (ask on site if you’d like a proper introduction), finding a spot for a picnic or just chilling out in a deckchair with a drink of your choice and soaking up the uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. It’s not just the human guests that appreciate this location – other visitors often include foxes, badgers, deer, owls and birds of prey, all of which you might catch sight of if you tread carefully or sit quietly enough. As an adults-only site children are not allowed to stay here, but travelling horses and dogs are welcome. The local pub, 10 minutes’ walk away, is also a dog-friendly place – and with tasty food and a good range of beers into the bargain. More shops and pubs are up in Deddington, along with a monthly farmers’ market. Back on site, you’ll be staying on a gently sloping field where pitches are mown into the wild grass. Solar lighting illuminates each pitch, the access track and the toilet and shower areas, and there are firepits to hire for a nice warm alfresco evening.

喜欢 Lovely quiet rural site. Beautifully kept and the cleanest toilets I’ve experienced at a site in quite a while. Great food at the White Horse down the road, easy walk.

喜欢 What a little gem 💎
We had a lovely stay here at the end of August. Great hot showers, very clean toilets and washing up area. Loved that the areas to pitch were mowed, so no one camped too close to you.
Lovely to see the horses all around. One unique aspect which is rare at a camp site was the WiFi. An added convenience.
Lots to do in the area. Went and explored the Cotswolds and Oxford itself. Would definitely stay again.

喜欢 Location. Pitch’s are well spread out and the individual space for each is great. They have a picnic bench included for each guest as well which was a bonus. This is a very well maintained, rural campsite. Facilities are one of the cleanest and best we have been to. A note that others have mentioned but only 2 toilets and 2 showers, if the site was full I think this could mean longer wait times.
Host communication was also great.

喜欢 Super clean bathrooms and sink area, everything is close to the pitches, very spaced out and spacious pitches which was lovely! The long grass meant there was lots of wildlife and just very peaceful and quiet overall, and close to Oxford and Banbury with nice pubs nearby which was nice as well

喜欢 Had a great 2 days at Francis Field. Very well laid out site with individual mown pitches and plenty of space. Loved the child free element!
Facilities were spotlessly clean and all clientele respectful of the no music rule.

Staying at Francis Fields, you’ll be just on the edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, putting you within easy reach of lots of gorgeous walking and cycling routes (and a good number of country pubs to stop at…) Some favourite options nearby include walks around the Rollright Stones, or a grander tour of Broughton Castle (both 20 minutes’ drive). Even grander are the lavish stately home and landscaped gardens (designed by Capability Brown, no less) at Blenheim Palace (15 minutes). If your current togs aren’t up to scratch for such things, hit the outlet stores at Bicester Village (20 minutes). The Cotswolds Distillery (25 minutes) is another good place to shop, with a café and distillery tours on offer too. Other days out nearby might take you into Oxford (half an hour) to tour the colleges and museums or try your hand at the art of punting, or to the high-speed action at the Silverstone circuit (35 minutes).
