No children, but plenty of wildlife – and a field of horses as your nearest neighbours… It’s all a very relaxed and peaceful experience at adults-only Francis Fields, in rural Oxfordshire about five minutes’ drive from the market town of Deddington. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind, perhaps taking a stroll around the farm to meet the horses and ponies (ask on site if you’d like a proper introduction), finding a spot for a picnic or just chilling out in a deckchair with a drink of your choice and soaking up the uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. It’s not just the human guests that appreciate this location – other visitors often include foxes, badgers, deer, owls and birds of prey, all of which you might catch sight of if you tread carefully or sit quietly enough. As an adults-only site children are not allowed to stay here, but travelling horses and dogs are welcome. The local pub, 10 minutes’ walk away, is also a dog-friendly place – and with tasty food and a good range of beers into the bargain. More shops and pubs are up in Deddington, along with a monthly farmers’ market. Back on site, you’ll be staying on a gently sloping field where pitches are mown into the wild grass. Solar lighting illuminates each pitch, the access track and the toilet and shower areas, and there are firepits to hire for a nice warm alfresco evening.

Em va agradar The site itself is idyllic, beautiful views and peaceful.
The campsite is well kept and well spaced.
The facilities are kept clean and include everything you need.
We stayed in the enclosed dog pitch which is spacious with fencing all around so our dogs could be off lead and secure. We had the most pleasant stay and probably one of the best campsites we have been to in terms of ticking every box.
There is plenty of walking space straight from the campsite to take our dogs for a lovely stroll.
Would 100% recommend and we will be staying again in the future!

Em va agradar Francis Fields is everything we look for in a campsite. The kind and responsive owners were wonderful, really going the extra mile for us. The site itself is peaceful and serene - beautiful views to wake up to and look at over the campfire as the sun sets. Well spaced pitches with a mix of mowing and wild grasses - perfection. Well designed and clean amenities with thoughtful touches. Great local area - walks, pubs, and farm shops to enjoy. Can’t wait to stay again.

Also loved that a short walk away down country lane is a gorgeous pub serving fresh food everyday. This is our second year visiting and im sure we will be back again

Em va agradar Lovely stay at Francis Fields. Such a beautiful peaceful location. Spotless facilities and lovely sized pitches. We stayed in the fully enclosed pitch so our dog could have some extra freedom!

Em va agradar Loved being able to book a fenced in pitch for the dog. We could all completely relax and he could wander around without having to have a lead on all of the time.

The way the pitches were set out ensured that everyone had their own space and it made it feel really private.

Toilets were really clean and there were hot showers and a nice clean washing up area. One of the best sites I have been to.

Em va agradar The enclosed pitch size was great, it fit 2 campers and an awning on with plenty of room to spare. It was really good to be able to give the dogs freedom to run around and the site wasn't so busy that they were barking at everything.
The hot outdoor/indoor showers were great but I imagine they'd be a bit breezy in the colder months. It was clean and quiet and the rural location was great for viewing the stars at night.
I found the signal a bit dodgy but did come across the wifi password in the first aid hut, worked perfectly from my pitch.

Em va agradar Designated pitch with wooden bench so plenty of space between campers.

Clean facilities. There are two unisex toilets and two unisex showers. Plenty of hooks and one seat inside the shower cubicles.

Two sinks for washing available with hot water.

Firepit available to hire.

Information hut where you can charge your phones. Books available to read as well

Automatic gate to enter and exit the location.

Very secluded and peaceful location.

Em va agradar There are so many things I liked about this campsite. The allocated pitches with enough spaces between you and your neighbours. The very clean toilets / showers and washing up area. The fact that you can have an area fenced in for your dogs. The views of countryside and beautiful horses! Will def be coming back next year.

Staying at Francis Fields, you’ll be just on the edge of the Cotswolds National Landscape, putting you within easy reach of lots of gorgeous walking and cycling routes (and a good number of country pubs to stop at…) Some favourite options nearby include walks around the Rollright Stones, or a grander tour of Broughton Castle (both 20 minutes’ drive). Even grander are the lavish stately home and landscaped gardens (designed by Capability Brown, no less) at Blenheim Palace (15 minutes). If your current togs aren’t up to scratch for such things, hit the outlet stores at Bicester Village (20 minutes). The Cotswolds Distillery (25 minutes) is another good place to shop, with a café and distillery tours on offer too. Other days out nearby might take you into Oxford (half an hour) to tour the colleges and museums or try your hand at the art of punting, or to the high-speed action at the Silverstone circuit (35 minutes).
