Can’t decide between Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire? Your worries are over with a stay at Silverhill Woodland Retreats – this well-established and superbly maintained campsite near Teversal borders both counties – and in fact you can spy three more from the top of Silverhill nearby. Surrounded by countryside, it has a peaceful location and yet is still easily accessible from main road routes. Customer service and superior facilities are the name of the game here – for it has a very glitzy loo block crafted from black marble, with thoughtful luxuries in it like hair dryers and complimentary toiletries. No need to worry about leaving anything at home either, as there is a shop on the site selling camping essentials, coffee and stuff you basically forgot to pack. There are ice creams on hand too, if the kids are behaving. You’ll find a play area on site for your younger offspring, as well as miles of walking and cycling trails directly from the campsite (pick up maps in reception). You can bring any four-legged friends to share in your hikes, or restrict your exercise to a leisurely stroll down to the local pub (five minutes’ walk) for decent grub and a pint.

喜欢 The toilets were lovely and very clean. The site is nice and compact. Hardwick Hall a 15 minute drive away so had a walk round the grounds.

不喜欢 The pitches are a little smaller than others we have stayed at and we parked the car in front of the tent instead of at the side as there wasn't enough space. Good for young children but 10 n 8 year old wasn't much for exploring

不喜欢 Toilet blocks were nice, but could've been cleaner, lots of times I went to find them a bit dirty.
People were quite loud and I slept very poorly, but I know this isn't really down to the site itself

喜欢 Arrived on site and was told where everything was and given a card fob to get though the barriers, nice clean site and good facilities, there are plenty of showers that also have toilets and sinks in each individual cubicle, there is separate family room. Large pot wash area that was always left clean and a great little park for the kids to play at. We booked thought pitch up with another family and asked if we could be pitched together but when they arrived they were in a different location so we went to reception and they were more than happy to move them so they were next to us. There is a lovely walk just across the road from the site with great views where you can take the dogs.

不喜欢 The pitches were a little smaller than we have had at previous sites and didn't have enough space to add our side porch however a little further round they did seem a bit more spacious. And the pitches don't have numbers on them so we were a little confused at first if we were on the correct pitch so had to go ask before unloading everything.
