Whitehorse Campsite

Tyckte om Lovely quiet campsite with plenty of room, basic site with toilets and shower and pot wash. Other users were respectful. Short walk through the back fields to the pub.

Tyckte inte om The push taps in the toilet are faulty and don’t release to turn off, therefore they were left running whilst we were in a drought (I manually pulled the tap up after use to turn it off). And there are 2 potash sinks, other people were washing up under running water, so if you wanted to fill your sink you had to wait, and both sets of taps barely worked together at the same time. Would be nice is there was a play area/park for the kids.

The taps in the toilet do release and turn off, these are checked when we clean at least four times a day. The taps are not designed to work together there is hot or cold water they are not mixer taps. If we had a play area or a park for the children we would have to increase the costs to cover this.

Tyckte om A fantastic campsite and a great place to stay for the night. Check-in was quick and easy, the facilities were spotless, and the host was welcoming and knowledgeable.

When we stayed, there were three large camping fields available, so there was plenty of space to find a nice flat pitch. There are also two pubs within easy walking distance directly from the campsite, which was a real bonus.

The views of the Osmington White Horse were excellent and made for a lovely setting.

Campfires weren’t permitted during our stay due to the dry ground conditions, which is completely understandable. Raised BBQs were still allowed.

We’d happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to others.

Tyckte om The space, hot powerful showers, location and the ability to walk to good pubs within half an hour. The owners were also really friendly.

Tyckte inte om Unisex toilets. There are 6 loos - please make it 3 and 3.
Lack of recycling - I ended up taking all mine home as it seems very unsustainable to be putting all rubbish into a skip.

Tyckte om Relaxed and friendly campsite. Lots of flat ground where you can park right next to your tent. Clean flushing toilets and showers with no queues. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Tyckte om This is a lovely spot. Was an ideal base for our visit to the Dog, Cider and Chilli festival at the Springhead. A 'no fuss' site with lots of space.

Tyckte inte om You need to be patient with the showers, there was often a queue at busy times - but we did go at peak season.

Tyckte om Campsite itself very good and spacious with a nice view on the white horse.

Tyckte inte om Facilities. Long queues to toilets and showers. No lights! You need to go to toilets with a flashlight. Boiling water in the shower, almost burned my skin. Not enough spaces for washing up -Queues. Due to not be able shower when it's dark, long queues in the morning.
Shame, because campsite it's nice.

The bank holiday is our busiest weekend and there are lightly to be queues.
There are toilets and showers each end of the campsite, also toilets at reception.
The showers in the woods do get hot when all the cold water is running at the sinks and wash up area, there are warning signs up.
As I am sure you noticed the lights in the toilets have been vandalized and the switches smashed,
we will be putting solar lights in with timers on for next year.
Also there are more wash up areas and again there will be queues at the Bank holiday weekend.

Hopefully we will see you next year at a quieter time.
