Tyckte om Great site! It wasn't too busy while we were there, making it wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Being surrounded by the woods was lovely, and the host was super helpful throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back!

Tyckte om I love this place because the wood is beautiful. There are jays, squirrels, deer, trees, fungi, owls and a whole lot more. It is a joy to camp here.

It is a simple campsite, no electric hook-ups and no hot running water. There is a wooden cabin with toilets and cold-water sinks. It is about getting back to nature.

I stayed in Autumn when the colours were amazing and there were loads of fungi about. It was wet and windy but sheltered by the trees (lovely). The owners, Emma and Duncan, run a tree-surgery business and they regularly survey the wood to make sure there are no dangerous trees or branches.

The wood is open to the public. I was there four days and saw three dog-walkers while I was there. The nearby village of Oakworth is a decent little place.

Emma and Duncan look after campers and they look after the wood. They can tell you all sorts of things about its history and wildlife. There’s a 10 minute induction when you arrive to make sure you get the most out of your stay and do not harm the wood. For example, you are allowed to have a campfire but you are not to burn any sticks or branches from the wood itself. You can bring your own wood or buy wood from them. This is so the natural wood, so to speak, can rot down and feed the invertebrates, the fungi and the trees. You also need to make sure the fire doesn’t get out of control, so you have to use a fire pit and tend the fire soberly. In my opinion, you really need to listen to what they tell you at induction (and/or read it on their website - Woodsworth Exploring).

If you love woodland and you want to get back to nature and camp in a wood that is well managed for wildlife and campers, then I recommend this one. I give it 10/10. I would love to come back in winter for the atmosphere and spring for the wildflowers ...

Tyckte om As a long time wild camper trying to introduce all my children to it, it was a gem. Nice balance of remote without being completely off grid. Got my youngest to be more mindful of how bugs aren’t problematic and generally wanted to leave her alone. Their quest to restore a natural space is refreshing. My famously nervous dog slept like a log even when the foxes started calling. It was a great night.

Tyckte inte om For what it is and how it is described it doesn’t need to be better. The gentleman who greeted us was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was alien to me having somebody give an induction but my kids really enjoyed it particularly the youngest.

Tyckte om Loved the woodland atmosphere, back to nature camping with ability to have a real fire. Second time visiting and hope to be back soon.

Tyckte om Enjoyed last time that much I've booked again :) This time I went with my mum and 2 dogs.
Toilet block clean, I got the same pitch as last time and good to see the pitch well maintained and clean since my last stay. Great induction, really helpful staff. Duncan even helped me back out of my allocated parking space as the parking was full which made it a squeeze, really appreciated. I'd recommend getting all your gear out your boot and then reversing in, which I will do next time. Again, the site was booked up but the distance and tree cover between pitches meant you still felt very cosy and isolated in the wilderness!

Tyckte om I stayed here for one night as a solo female traveller with my dog and it was exactly as described. Communication before arrival was excellent, and the owner met me on arrival for a friendly and efficient check-in.

The individual pitches were a nice touch, giving a bit of privacy and space, and the whole site felt well organised and looked after. Most importantly, I felt safe and comfortable staying on my own.

A simple, pleasant stay with everything I needed. I'd happily stay again.

Tyckte om Great for me and my 2 boys as their first camping experience. Great conservation focus, lovely site tucked away - but not far from the shop when needed.
