Likte Great back to nature campsite/experience. Large pitch areas in the woodlands with nobody overlooking you. My 5 year old loves running around looking at all the wildlife and fungus on the trees.

Likte ikke The only thing I didn't like and can't be helped so didn't effect my score but the public footpath along the edge of the site had a very loud group of lads walking through it around 9pm shouting obscenities at each other

Likte Had another really nice stay at Woodsworth Exploring. Despite the site being full it never felt crowded or noisy. I was worried there might be queues for the two toilets on site but it turned out not to be an issue. Due to the very high fire risk there was unfortunately a 10:30pm curfew on campfires after which they had to be extinguished, which was a shame but understandable with the extremely dry summer. As usual the staff are lovely.

Likte ikke One of the two toilets was in an absolute state this morning so I don't know how regularly they are checked and cleaned. This is the first time I've ever seen them not be clean, so hopefully a one off.

This is a bit nit picky, but as I stay at more and more different sites and seeing what level of facilities are offered at different price points, I do think the amenities on site are a bit lacking. No paper towels, no washing up liquid or sponges, no hot water etc despite being on the upper end of typical campsite prices is something they really should look into improving on. I get that it's suppose to be 'wild camping' style, but wild camping is free and as such you expect to rough it, if you're spending the best part of £40 a night, some paper towels or a washing up liquid dispenser isn't that much to ask for I think.

Likte Lovely unique location providing a quiet and relaxing space with lots of privacy. Staff are lovely and friendly.

Likte Location is great, each pitch is well spaced from the others, felt a better camping experience than others, clean, wheelbarrows available to transport things from cars to tents, plenty of birds and walks from there. Fire pits with emergency water tank nearby, woods available to buy. Will require extra payment to lit the fire and someone to act as fire warden for the group.

Likte ikke Nothing, but better use the toilet before night time or can be challenging finding the right path, depending on location.
An induction is required at arrival, can feel too much for some (my friends).

Likte Loved the forest setting. Love the pitch setup- very individual pitches well Away from other campers making it feel like you are the only ones in the forest. Good facilities . Nice walks into the moors direct from the site. Ecology based site so the staff really look after the woodland, but for those with younger children this comes with strict rules, like no climbing trees. But this makes it very peaceful

Likte ikke Could hear traffic especially on a night as the site is very close to a town. If the weather is bad be prepared for mud . If you are not fit don’t come here as you need to barrow your belongings from the car park to your pitch which is up hill.

Likte Focus on nature and ecology, lovely natural woodland, lots of birds singing! Pitches are well spaced and give privacy from other campers. Nice toilets and wheelbarrows to transport kit from car to pitch. Owner was very friendly and knowledgeable with a passion for nature and he shared lots of interesting information.

Likte ikke Hidden extra charge for having a campfire - on Pitchup it doesn’t tell you anywhere I could find that there is a £7 charge to have your own fire. There are other optional extras to select on Pitchup, but fire is not one of them so it’s not possible to add this to your booking in advance. You will have to pay this on arrival. Owner insisted it was stated but I couldn’t find it. Owner agreed to waive the charge, which was appreciate, but it’s something to be aware of!

The owner also comes into each camp at night and checks everyone is not burning their wood and that they are following the fire rules. This is for safety and to protect the woodland, so the reason is understandable, but if you prefer a wild camping feel and to be left alone at your pitch, this site may not be for you.

There is also a large horse paddock along one side of the site which smells very badly of manure. Unfortunately, our pitch was the other side of the wall to the horses and so the smell of manure was constant. So you may want to ask to be placed away from this side if you don’t like the smell of horse manure!
