If you like to open up your tent in the morning and see views of trees and farm animals rather than lots of other tents, take a look at Orchard View Campsite. This small Staffordshire site only has a handful of pitches, so your neighbours are likely to be the resident free-range chickens and ducks rather than a large number of other guests. The other thing you’ll be able to see is the small orchard next to the camping area – still in its infancy but a lovely backdrop nonetheless. In keeping with these chilled-out surroundings, the off-grid site is a simple setup with some outdoor log seating, a cold water supply and an indoor toilet as the only facilities. Keeping guest numbers low means there should always be space to relax in – and the low-key facilities mean low light pollution, and therefore often some quiet special night sky views. The location of this site should be a winner too – it's a thoroughly rural spot with lots of walks around and urban facilities not too far away in either Uttoxeter or Stoke-on-Trent (both 15-20 minutes' drive away). The closest pubs are a couple of miles away, and there are plenty of ways to fill your days – including days at the races, thrill rides at Alton Towers, pottery museums and gin tours among other things.

Tyckte om We booked to stay at Orchard View on a Friday night and were the only people staying. We had our choice of the pitches which all had a firepit built into the ground and a variety of seating available. The campsite also had a sink, a toilet and parking.

The pitches overlook a field of cows which were very friendly and entertaining. The view was so calming and peaceful. We had the option to feed the chickens which was fun!

James the host was incredibly helpful, despite us arriving early he was able to give us directions to the pitch. He even lent us a lighter when we forgot our own.

The price of the stay was incredible value given the facilities available.

We would highly recommend and will definitely return!

Tyckte om Fantastic, my son made a friend with the Grandma of all the cows who waited by our tent for Logan to give her the long grass over night!. Very funny.
Excellent downhill cycle routes, brilliant tent set up with tree tables and pews and a rock fire pit with wood and starters and a lighter. EXCELLENT. Amazing views, very quiet and very beautiful. Lovely People. Top stars defo going again.

Tyckte inte om Absolutely nothing. Maybe toilet paper in loo as I forgot and cycled to the shop first thing. lol

Tyckte om A lovely site that I would love to revisit! James was very friendly and helpful, and his instructions made the site easy to find.

The curious chickens were entertaining and I enjoyed just watching the cows and their calves in the field opposite.

This was my first time solo camping and I would definitely recommend to others looking to do the same.

Från föreståndaren: Unfortunately I expected this after I at to ask them to put the dog back on the lead and caught them burning anything and everything on the fire pit, when I over a fair package of firewood at a fair price and do say that is all that should be used.
It’s a back to basic campsite toilet and cold water wash area. So facilities and activities don’t really count and I also don’t offer WiFi.
Unfortunately you can’t please everyone, yet if you read the other comments you will see I do and try my best look after you all.
