We completely understand your comments regarding the unisex toilet and shower facilities — it’s not our preferred setup either. This arrangement is temporary only while our shower blocks are undergoing refurbishment, and facilities will be returned to separate male and female areas as soon as the work is completed.

Понравилось * Good sized gravel pitch which was essential as connecting roads and surrounding grass areas rapidly flooded due to poor weather
* Staff friendly at reception and in cafe area
* Cooked breakfast was good at cafe
* Close distance to surrounding facilities for food shopping, cafes, pubs, petrol station if staying for longer periods

Не понравилось * Many potholes in road areas, car parks. High water levels in ditches between field and pitches. Excessive rain would have worsened the flooding. This may have been a problem as only 1 access road identified. No check in from staff to update on conditions.
* Poor upkeep of toilet/shower facilities. No hot water. Mould apparent. Small shower cubicle.
* Both hand dryers in ladies and disabled toilet at cafe not working and no paper towels provided
* One toilet block was closed for maintenance and it was a long walk to next facility near cafe. This was too far away from camping area G1/G2 and certainly would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues due to distance.
* Generally not disability friendly e.g. lack of handrails in cafe area and multiple steps plus poorly maintained roads.
* Not made aware at checking in that there would be regular and loud sounds of guns firing nearby. This may of been a problem for those with dogs.

We are an activity centre, and as clearly stated on our pitch advertisement and our website, shooting activities do take place on site. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible if this information was overlooked prior to booking, but we do encourage all guests—particularly those travelling with dogs—to review the site details carefully before arrival.

Regarding the flooding and potholes: we have experienced exceptionally heavy rainfall for the past three months, which has affected many areas locally and nationally. While this is outside of our control, our team works daily to manage drainage and repair potholes as conditions allow. The access road remained open and safe throughout your stay.

Our staff do not routinely check in with guests during their stay unless a concern is raised with us. We are always happy to assist, but issues such as access, water, or facilities must be reported so we can act on them promptly.

The toilet block you mentioned was temporarily closed for essential maintenance and installation of heating. However, the disabled toilet remained fully open and accessible, and this was clearly communicated at check-in. We acknowledge the longer walking distance for some guests and appreciate your feedback on this.

If there had been any issue with hot water, we would have resolved it immediately had it been reported to our team. Likewise, faults such as hand dryers are best brought to our attention on-site so they can be addressed without delay.

We are continually working to improve accessibility across the site and appreciate constructive feedback, though we do wish to clarify that accessible facilities were available during your stay.

The facilities are primarily provided to support our activity centre, which is clearly stated in our site information.

At the time of your stay, the main shower block was closed for essential maintenance, as explained at check-in. An alternative shower and toilet block was available and was clearly pointed out to you on arrival.

Regarding the restaurant, you arrived after it had closed for the day. It reopened at 9:30am the following morning, before you would have left your pitch.

Понравилось Absolutely great i took my 8 Yr old in our campervan and she loved it. Ehu is 1st class. The bar/restaurant /soft play was very busy but shows how popular it is.

Shower and toilet block pristine hot water clean was great!

Clean drinking water
Kitchen etc

No wifi on pitch but showed my daughter life is better interacting!

We will definitely be back

Понравилось Good location for Marwell Zoo and surrounding attractions. Friendly and responsive warden and owner. Towed us out when we got stuck( our fault)
Very helpful.As we were there in February some facilities not open( understandably) but seems like there is lots to do and a good site for children.

Понравилось Lovely site, peaceful and quiet, good walking area for dogs (in the wet weather), really nice restaurant with takeaway available.
Hard standing, gravel pitch with electric good size and easily accessible.
Very welcoming lady at reception and site team that we met during our stay.
Toilet block clean, facilities maintained although dated but functional. We had our own shower so did not use the sites to review.
Other toilet/shower block under renovation.

Понравилось Quiet pitch with lots of space

Не понравилось Toilets did not work and the other ones were in pitch black at night so had to use the gents. Poorly lit sight and no real
Amenities open eg no shop and no wifi on pitch. So felt pricey for what we got

Any maintenance issues, including lighting or toilet faults, must be reported to reception or the site warden so they can be addressed promptly. No such issues were raised during your stay, which meant we were not given the opportunity to resolve them at the time.

Понравилось Check in was easy, reception lady was very welcoming

Не понравилось Where shall I start!!!
Pitch was on slop and wooden shingles board on pitch broken with screws sticking out not ideal for dogs or children. we arrived at 1pm on friday. Shower block had mud in showers and toilets had toilet paper on floor and toilet rolls with plastic centres in cubicles for the whole weekend we left at 10am Sunday and they had not been cleaned all weekend. Mould all over walls and ceiling. The power supply kept tripping out at least 6 times over the weekend. The bar and grill had a smell like old chip pan oil and was not pleasant to be in. Driveway had many pot holes which needs maintenance.

Regarding your other comments, we’d like to clarify a few points:

The pitch surfaces and wooden shingles are maintained regularly. If any hazard, such as exposed screws, is found, it should be reported immediately to the site warden so it can be rectified. Safety is always our priority.

All toilet and shower blocks are cleaned daily at 11am. If any issue arises outside of this schedule, reporting it to reception or the warden allows us to address it promptly. Leaving issues unreported over a weekend unfortunately prevents us from resolving them in real time.

The power supply is regularly inspected. Trips can occasionally occur due to guest equipment or extreme weather conditions; these are outside our direct control.

The bar and grill undergoes regular cleaning, and any temporary odours would be addressed immediately if reported during the visit.

As mentioned in previous responses, potholes and driveway conditions are being managed daily, but heavy and persistent rainfall affects all roads nationally.

We appreciate constructive feedback, but many of the concerns raised could have been resolved quickly during your stay had they been reported. We always encourage guests to speak to our team immediately about any issues so we can act.
