Haddon Grove Farm Campsite

Понравилось Great campsite, very clean toilets and shower block, a few animals to look at, rope swings, catering vans (although the days we booked these done open) little shop which stocks essentials. The young lad running it was very friendly and accommodating.

Понравилось Owners were friendly and polite
Choosing own space and the views were incredible
Cleanliness of facilities were great and kept immaculate
having food trucks on site

Не понравилось Pitch up states it had a play area which was of the reasons for booking.
However this is a rope swing which you access in certain field area.
Would be better with a full play area for the children.

Понравилось The location, stunning views, and ability to go as a large (respectable) group.

Не понравилось Everything else!! The owners, as nice as they are are just not capable of managing the size of the site and volume of people they allow onto it at one time.

- The shower/toilet blocks are new but insufficient for the volume of people. We did 5 nights Wednesday - BH Monday and the 1st couple of days were bad enough, but just got worse and worse as the weekend progressed. Water pressure is that low it’s not a great shower even when it’s quiet, but when it was busy the water didn’t even spray off the walls, it just runs straight down the wall, making it impossible to wash your body, let alone wash hair.

- Hand wash basins in toilet block are the only place to brush teeth/wash face and the pressure is that low it feels very unhygienic. Nowhere is cleaned as often or as well as it should be. I went in one toilet cubicle one evening and there was no toilet paper in any, the toilet rim was disgusting and something nasty was smeared on the wall. I happened to end up in the same one at 10:30am the next morning and it was still the same 🤮.

- The only socket on the entire site, if you wished to dry/style your hair, is in the old toilet/shower blocks which I honestly thought had been abandoned due to the new ones as they were so run down and dirty, but apparently there were signs up encouraging people to use them, when the men’s toilets were closed due to being overwhelmed and blocking up 🤢

- The fridge freezer smells foul and is constantly surrounded by flies.

- 11pm quiet time was not managed. Large groups partying till much later, and smell of drugs.

- Sadly this could be a 5* special campsite if managed better. But sadly when problems were broached with owners, their responses were telling of the fact that they don’t plan to invest to rectify the problems anytime soon. And for this reason we won’t be returning 😢

- Use pizza van with caution. 2 from our party witnessed main chef use toilet with apron and gloves on and walk out without washing hands and jump straight up into position on the pizza van 😳 hence why we didn’t use that particular facility during our stay.

Понравилось Great campsite with everything you need, plenty of facilities, on site food and drinks vans and brilliant little shop for the things we’d forgotten or run out of.

Most importantly, just a great, chilled out atmosphere!

Понравилось We’ve camped at quite a few sites but this was by far one of the best. We usually love a small and peaceful site but this was quite the opposite! The site was buzzing with families, groups of friends, lawn games, laughter, music and lights. We loved it! It felt like a proper community and one we were so welcomed to be apart of. It also felt incredibly safe. We were able to pitch up a little further away from the main area which meant we had peace and quiet when it came to relaxing. We were right next to the gate down to Lathkill Dale so the views were perfect! The staff were so friendly and the little shop had all you could need in it. The facilities were plentiful and we had pizza one of the nights which was delicious. Would definitely come here again!

Не понравилось The only downside was the toilets were always blocked and the shower water barely ran but that’s expected when camping!

Понравилось A beautiful site, with stunning views. Lovely walks from stepping outside our caravan.
Owned by a lovely friendly family.
Good facilities, showers toilets etc.
We will definetley be returning later this year.

Понравилось Beautiful views, food and drink vans on all weekend, stunning walks literally out the door! Showers and toilets were clean and the shop stocked the necessities. I’d gladly come back.

Не понравилось Poor water pressure at busy times but it’s not the end of the world.

Понравилось We liked how big the campsite is, its spread over 6/7 fields with plenty of space to pitch. The views were stunning from every field and there was also food trucks over the weekend and a bar which added a nice touch.

Не понравилось With how big the campsite is, it can get very busy and the facilities do not cater for such busy periods.. the showers were not working, the toilets were not flushing and the taps just dribbled out .. we stayed for 5 days and only on the 4th day they put up signs to say there is another toilet block by reception however by the time you walked there you may as well just wait in the queue. The only thing that let the campsite down was the lack of facilities for when it’s a busy period. No wifi and very little to none signal.
