Gostou Spacious pitches for family to pitch near the bell tent. Clean facilities, very relaxing and super views. Bell tent clean and cosy. Warden and site owner both really helpful and friendly. Would book again.

Gostou Just had a lovely couple of nights at this campsite and it was so lovely. Amazing views and lovely and quiet (apart from the small party tent next to me on the first night which is fine as I dont begrudge the youngsters having fun and they were no trouble ☺️) I was having a little trouble figuring out how to erect a new canopy so when the warden of the site came over to introduce himself and tell me about the facilities I cheekily asked him if he would help and he gladly obliged so thank you so much for your help! Facilities were basic which is what I was looking for anyway. Would definitely return in the future. Thank you!

Gostou The owners were lovely, very kind, polite and attentive. Made sure we were ok and the stay was agreeable. Quick drive into the local towns and there was tea/coffee available to buy on site. Facilities were as expected on a small rural campsite.
Overall a good stay

Não gostou The tent wasn't as big as was pictured, when we arrived the tent wasn't in a clean state. It was suggested that someone else had stayed in the tent and had not left it clean without the owner's knowledge.
The Friday night was quiet, but on Saturday a lot more people came and parked/pitched up very close to our tent (the smell of weed was quite strong), and we had to move the car to accommodate a newly arrived campervan.

Gostou Great campsite in the Peak District with a friendly atmosphere and well-kept facilities. Colin, the warden, is especially welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area, always happy to offer helpful tips. Views from the campsite are also amazing.

Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Gostou Large open field, pick your own spot and your sorted! Fantastic views, site owner was lovely and constantly keeping the site maintained. Clean well maintained facilities .

Gostou Quiet and well away from main road.

Não gostou Field was sloped but i managed to get on the top part of field which was flattest area which was just as well as i was on a motorbike.

Gostou Very spacious field, only two other tents. Great views all around

Não gostou On checking in at the farm house at around noon, the ‘lady’ allowed her dogs to climb all over my car while taking my money. They were trying to get to my dog, which was under control in the car. I booked/paid for two nights.

Arrived at the field and picked my spot, probaby the only flat spot there. Later in the day she came blasting up the field on the noisey quad bike with the dogs in tow. They ate my dogs food, and went into my tent where other food was, which was zipped up. I was unaware straight away, and was made aware because my dog started barking at them, so I took him of his lead, and put him in the car, while i attempted to usher the dogs away. I watched her pop her head into the very basic and disfunctional toilets, that had loose electrical wiring hanging about. Shouted to her to control her dogs please. “Yes, they’ll be fine” was her response.
She left, and had to come back to my pitch to collect the dogs as they were still there.
The morning after, she was blasting around on the mower, with the little rats in tow again, and yes, they went back in the tent, and ate my dogs food. This time I was aware, and scooted them off my pitch. Again, i shouted to the witch to control her beasts, and she flew them back to the farmhouse.
Because my peace and quiet was abused, I felt that I should leave, and go to a more approachable spot. No refund or apology offered.

There is a clear sign that says not campers beyond this point at the top of the lane which you ignored and proceeded down the lane to the farm house which is out of bounds to campers so you shouldn't of been down there anyway

Yes the toilets may be basic (we do advertise as nothing but wild camping (however they are very much in a clean and functioning order ) so for you to say they are disfunctional is a very mis leading comment to make from yourself

I am interested to know how the dogs managed to "un zip" your tent again a very interesting comment I must say.

Now on that note ... I am off to fix my broom
