A small, family-run site in north Devon, South Ford Farm Camping is set peacefully alongside the River Bray. Here you can get far, far away from the rat race to watch sheep grazing in the fields, supervise kids playing on the riverside beach and enjoy the sunset along with your evening barbecue (available to hire on site; wood and firepits also available). On clear nights, just lie back and watch the Milky Way twinkling in the skies. Walkers and cyclists are lucky as Exmoor National Park is a mere 15 minutes’ drive. Watersports enthusiasts, this is also a great base for you as one of Devon’s most popular surfing beaches is 40 minutes away by car. South Molton (10 minutes’ drive) is the nearest town, where you can pick up bits in the supermarket or root around artisan food stalls at the Pannier Market (every Thursday and Saturday). For big shopping trips (and restaurants serving all kinds of food) Barnstaple (25 minutes) is your best bet. This is a laidback, simple site with a handful of amenities including a communal covered tent with board games to borrow, showers, a washing-up station and recycling facilities. Dogs are welcome, but please not at pitches by the river.

Gostou Only there for a night but absolutely fantastic and will be back again. We were met with a cheery welcome and presented with a map of the area and explained everything that we needed to know. Pitches were flat, everything was tidy. Toilet, shower and washing facilities were immaculate. I really do not not have a bad word to say.

Gostou We had an absolutely lovely stay and honestly can’t fault this campsite. We came back after a few years and were really impressed by how much the place has developed while still keeping its peaceful, natural atmosphere.

The location is beautiful, with the river right by the campsite, and the facilities and toilets were clean and well looked after. The pigs and sheep are a lovely addition too, especially for families!

Chris, the owner, is absolutely brilliant. You can really see how hard he works to keep everything at a high standard and make sure his guests are happy. When we arrived, we realised we had forgotten our tent pegs. We gave Chris a call and he kindly lent us some straight away – he really saved us! 😊

We had a fantastic time and felt very welcome. A beautiful, friendly campsite with a great owner. We will definitely be back and would happily recommend it to others! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gostou I took my nearly 2 year old grandson , owners were so lovely and helpful.always about checking to make sure everyone is ok. Toilets, showers , washing up.facilities always clean and tidy, kids were safe to run about , see the pigs , the sheep, play.areas , little.stream area .... nothing in walking distance ...no pubs etc it is a really good site for families , wasn't noisy , kids appeared to be in. Bed by 9/10pm., would highly.recommend if you are after a chilled campsite that can keep the kids entertained ... kids I saw had all made friends it was really lovely. Also no light pollution so the stars were amazing , also very sheltered from the wind i found x didnt have time to take any pics as I was chasing my grandson around lol

Não gostou Nothing and this isn't really a dislike its just dont expect super fast wifi like some people do ! Like with any site (even the big expensive ones ) the WiFi got weaker at times everyone was logging on , but that is standard for any site ive ever stayed on ... just had to put my maps on when I got out the gate closer to the house when we went off for the day !

Listen up surfers, because South Ford Farm is 40 minutes’ drive from Saunton Sands, while Croyde Bay and Woolacombe are both reached in 50 minutes. Whichever beach you choose, gear hire and surfing lessons are available. You can also keep active while exploring the wild moorland landscapes of Exmoor National Park (15 minutes’ drive) on foot, horseback and bike, or striding out along the dramatic coastline of the North Devon National Landscape (35 minutes). Spend some family time learning all about beekeeping at Quince Honey Farm (10 minutes). Other days out with the kids might include a visit to Exmoor Zoological and Conservation Centre (25 minutes), where you can hand feed wallabies, listen to keeper talks and spot rare black leopards in spacious enclosures. If the weather’s not co-operating for you, treat the kids to the Smart Swim Centre’s covered pool (five minutes), give the indoor climbing wall a go at Rock and Rapid Adventures (10 minutes), or have a bounce around at Air Extreme Trampoline Park (25 minutes).
