Lazing comes naturally at 25-acre Misterton Holiday Park – it's an easy five-minute stroll away from the River Idle…And on top of that, this peaceful site in South Yorkshire has pretty views out over the countryside and a spacious grassy area on which to settle (perhaps with a picnic?) and admire them. Not planning to picnic all day? A driving range is on hand for golfers, and a waterside pub is a few minutes' walk away for drinks after your efforts. To stock up on groceries and other bits and bobs for your hol, Misterton village, a 20-minute stroll away, has a small supermarket and a butcher's shop (as well as takeaways if you’d rather not cook). This site’s also a 10-minute drive from the historic market town of Epworth, the former home of famed Methodist John Wesley, and less than five minutes from Shepherds Place Farm for days out with the animals. Gainsborough – a place of pottery-making coffee shops, playhouses, a heritage centre and a model village – is 20 minutes away and the large town of Doncaster is a half-hour drive for potters around the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum and the 18th-century Cusworth Hall.

Gostou Pitch size was good for our 25foot motorhome and a hard standing pitch also. There are no toilets and showers on the site. But we don't have a problem with that as we use our own. There's grey waste. Drinking water and elsan point. Also electric hook up if required That's all that's needed. We stayed here many years ago
. Since the new owners take over they are improving the site. On last visit the access road was full of pot holes.. But now it is a well lit sealed road well lit with a large automated electric entrance gate. Good value for money would defo recommend. Put restaurant near by and canal side walks. The lady owner we met was very helpfull and recommended things to do in the area. Thank Peter and Sheila

Gostou As usual this site is lovely , we,v been now 5 times , we love it as its quite , nice long walks , annie the site manager is brilliant, really nice ,shes very dedicated to her job and takes pride in what she does.

Gostou Wardens really friendly and helpful. I had a problem with my jockey wheel, they came and rescued me and informative about what was local and nearby. Pitch was reasonably level and we had electric (unmetered) and an elsan point available. No other facilities so lovely and quiet, felt like off grid but with the luxury of electricity and waste point. I'd happily visit again.

Gostou Large flat well kept pitch. Pleasant warden said good morning every day. Fresh water and chemical disposal points. (Bring your own toilet as non on site) Will be back loved it.

Gostou Level pitches, fresh water tap and elsan point, to empty our portable toilet. Nice and quiet next to the bank of the river Idle. Golf driving range next to the site. Lovely pub nearby (two minute walk) great food.
Annie, the site warden was pleasant, helpful advised on the local area.
We'll be coming back loved it off grid for a few days.

Gostou Lovely welcome from Warden Mark who directed us to pitch and where to hook up as the was an outage at the ehu point.
Just got leveled up and we were greeted by a lovely smiley pleasant Annie.
Main site is undergoing development for statics but touring area is tucked away from this work.

Peaceful spot in the sun, lovely Riverside walk, nearby pub serves lovely Sunday Carvery (pre book a table). River looks great for kayaking or fishing.
5 mins drive to Misterton for absolutely fantastic Fish and chip restaurant. 5 mins up the Road for a visit with Grandaughter to Milestone Ranch petting zoo.

Gostou We are an independent small motor home and it was nice to be able to off grid IE park on the grass and not pay a premium rate for serviced hard standing. The site was nice and quiet, with a tap and an elsan point & grey water was fine on the grass. Took the dogs for a wander down the River on the evening, hubby enjoyed the adjacent golf driving range (£1 per 15 balls). Though site isn't perfectly flat, it was easy enough to park so you didn't need levelling ramps. Anna was very friendly and welcoming and advised that toilets and shower blocks are coming.... But for us for a short stay it already has everything we might want.

Gostou We stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it!
It was so peaceful and the warden was so welcoming and informative!

We wanted a couple of quiet days away from reality and this place really did it for us! We went with friends who had their own tourer and when we informed them they came out and told us to take the pitches next to each other.

We will 100% be booking to go back as it was everything we wanted from it.

If you’ve come to the countryside to catch glimpses of animal life, start with an outing to Tia Rescue Greyhound & Shire Horse Sanctuary (15 minutes’ drive), where you can meet the rescued creatures and feed farm animals, plus treat your own holidaying hound to something from the café’s special dog menu (while having tea and cake yourself, of course). Follow up with a potter around Potteric Carr Nature Reserve (25 minutes), to wander through the wetlands, or set off in search of somewhat larger and more exotic beasts (including polar bears, lions and a colony of giant otters) at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (25 minutes). For active days out, paintballing and go-karting are within a 25-minute drive; if that all sounds a little hectic for your tastes, perhaps aim for the world’s largest collection of preserved trolley buses at the aptly named Trolley Bus Museum in Sandtoft (20 minutes) or drive to Lincoln (40 minutes) to wander around the medieval cathedral and handsome Norman castle.
