A flight simulator, a Vampire T11 nose cone and a full-sized military plane out in the courtyard… the list of facilities in place at Heath Farm Caravan Site is certainly a fairly unusual one. Then again, how often does one get to stay at a place that's also home to an aviation museum? (Not often is the answer… hence this place is likely to be a particular draw for folk fascinated by things that fly, or with an interest in military history). The museum in question is the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre, set in the old buildings of Heath Farm and free to visit. The family-run farm and its museum is in the Lincolnshire countryside just outside the little village of North Rauceby and 10 minutes’ drive from Sleaford, a handy spot for heading out to Lincoln, Boston and other towns, visiting relatives up the road at RAF Cranwell or sticking to local lanes for strolls between villages (or village pubs…). If your travelling party features a mutt, there’s plenty of space for them to get out for a walk in the fields next door. Pitches here are on level well-drained land with access to electrical supplies.

Gostou Really well kept area. Good clean facilities. Really friendly and welcoming host. Like the little shed with items to buy which then goes to charity, although would have been nice to have got something relating to where we was (heath farm keyring for example). Was a nice relaxing break and although a smaller campsite it did not feel hemmed in. Will definitely be returning!

Gostou Fantastic little site, lovely and peaceful, very clean and tidy, toilets and chemical cleaning very clean. Owners very friendly. Great little dog walk.

Gostou Lovely campsite, easy to find, has added interest of aviation museum (although I didn't have time to visit as I just stayed one night stopping over). Very helpful hosts and clean and pleasant facilities with all that's needed.

Gostou Quiet site, we have a reactive dog so it was ideal. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. It might be a basic site, ie no showers but for us it was perfect. Ideally located for visiting local National Trust properties.

We will certainly be back.

Gostou Small site, but full. Even so was quiet. No showers but aware before we booked. Toilet and wash area clean.

Gostou Very well presented site , nice welcome with really good information which does include details of local amenities , nearby eateries and shops as well as places of interest.

Lovely and peaceful with beautifully maintained and tendered garden area as well as camping sites . Good onsite facilities also set within camping site Cranwell aviation museum..

One thing which really impressed me was how quiet things are especially as it’s set within working arable farm ( so peaceful )

Both myself and hubby would throughly recommend this to anyone looking for peace and quiet break ..

Such a warm and friendly welcome ..
( we’ve enjoyed it so much have just booked return trip for early September ..

Gostou Everything about this site was perfect. A warm welcome onto a site that is kept to perfection. Other sites should see this as an example. The pitches were all immaculate but the toilets, washroom and waste disposal were excellent. All so well kept. Along with this there was much information about the local area and a lovely little shed selling various products. Thank you so much for the thought and care you put into running this site.

If you’ve picked this place mainly for its aviation element, why stop there? Turn your holiday into a themed break by heading out to see more flying machines and memorabilia at Newark Air Museum (20 minutes’ drive), playing with the interactive displays at International Bomber Command Centre (25 minutes) and taking a day to follow the North Kesteven Airfield Trail around the area’s many current and former air bases. Time for a break from the sky-based stuff? Skip into Sleaford (10 minutes’ drive) to visit the free museum, see the Cogglesford Watermill in action and follow the themed trails to uncover the town’s arty and historic corners. Or maybe you’d rather stick to things that move at ground level? If so, the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum (half an hour) is a good place to start.
