At family-friendly site The Thames Head Inn, four miles from Cirencester market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, you definitely won't want to miss the chance. Thames Head is well-placed for exploring the spectacular Cotswolds on foot or by bike – the start of the Thames Path, which follows the world-famous river for 184 miles from source to sea, is half a mile from the site, and there are loads of cycles tours and walking routes starting in Cirencester and Tetbury, both within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. If that's not your scene, kick back on the dog-friendly site in the shade of the trees, soaking in the scenic and peaceful Cotswolds countryside, or take a relaxed stroll through the fields with Rex. Worked up an appetite? The site is in the grounds of the Thames Head Inn bar-restaurant, where food is served well into the evening and the drinks keep flowing until closing (remember to book a table, as mealtimes can get very busy). If you fancy fending for yourself, pick up supplies in Cirencester or Kemble – a 20-minute walk away – and fire up the barbecue. For a change of scenery – and menus – there are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes of Thames Head.

Gostou Good location, well set up gravel pitches. Very clean. Disposal point basic- two inspection chamber covers with rope handles but well maintained.

Não gostou The pub would not do us breakfast - the resident guests are their priority.
Limited facilities - single toilet/washroom with shower.

Gostou The campsite was very clean and very spacious. Also the pub was right there too and did amazing menu and the food was so delicious.

Não gostou Toilets/shower- only one and in the same room.
Satnav brought us down the road into a little entry .. need to make sure you put the pub name in your sat nav. As we pulled in to turn round and then realised we was at the site, very narrow to drive round the back of pub in places.

Gostou Great pitches at the back of the Inn.. a short walk from the bar and great evening meals. This is our third stay and never been disappointed. The source of the Thames is about 20 to.30.mins away..Great price for a clean pitch.

Não gostou Only one loo shower. Really missed s trick ss they do not do breakfasts for those on touring pitches. Would be great to have that option when booking. Paying in advance of course. There is some noise from road close by, but didnt wake us.

Gostou Der Platz ist ordentlich und super gelegen, die Besitzer sind ausgesprochen freundlich und die Stellplätze wirklich vernünftig und großzügig 😊
Das Essen im Pub ist fantastisch und es ist einfach urig und gemütlich. Ein toller Ausgangspunkt um die Cotswolds zu erkunden 😊

Não gostou Die sanitären Anlagen sind schon ein paar Tage älter und es war nicht ganz so sauber bei unserer Ankunft, aber trotzdem noch in Ordnung. Es gibt 1 Toilette und Dusche für alle Platznutzer 😊

Gostou Pitches were level. Not a massive site, gravel pitches . Pub and food. Not a lot of ambience in the pub tbh. The young man waiting on tables was exceptionally polite and good at what he did. Thankyou to him for that. Meal portions were big.

Não gostou No WiFi signal, no TV signal of any use. Little bit of road and train noise (didn't really cause any bother).

Gostou The welcome was great ,very friendly staff made our stay very pleasant. The pubs menu and food was excellent not served on slabs of wood or grey slate but on lovely hot plates.We will be returning soon.

There are plenty of stately homes near The Thames Head Inn if you want to get a feel for the history of the area, with Newark Park, Sudeley Castle, Dyrham Park, Bowood House and Berkeley Castle all within 45 minutes’ drive of the site. TV addict? Visit Chavenage House, 15 minutes from Thames Head, which you may recognise as the Poldark family home of Trenwith from the eponymous BBC drama… If you’re more at home in the outdoors, explore some of the many gardens within 20 minutes of the site, rub elbows with the royals on a trip to Highgrove Gardens at the private residence of Charles and Camilla or, on a grander scale, stroll around the national arboretum at Westonbirt.
