New Green End Farm

Gostou Field was very flat, owner was friendly and regularly seen zipping around on his cart with his lovely dog Flip Flop checking everyone was ok and the facilities were clean. Toilets were immaculate, cleaned & stocked up throughout the day. Vending machine was great and very reasonably priced. There was washing up facilities, fridge, freezer & outside showers available but we were self sufficient so didn't use them. If you enjoy aviation, its a perfect location to be underneath the take off path from Luton. Was our first ever time camping and a great location to start our camping adventures! Will definitely be coming back

Gostou Great amount of space

Não gostou The positives, very large site and you felt like you had loads of space. Great for dog walks, especially as shaded by the trees.

Loved the fire bells (never noticed these before so may be a legal requirement because of the current heat) but very good to see in light of recent grass fires etc. Kitchen/wash up facilities inside the block were clean. Toilets were cleaned but probably not as often as they should have been. Great vending machine inside the kitchen area with a great selection from Mug shots, packets of sweets and even dog treats. Loved the fact there was free sanitary towels in the ladies (although sadly, I think most of these were used as toilet roll on Sunday morning as they ran out of toilet paper).

The not so great - Shower facilities. They worked and had hot water which was great but they are outside (i.e a little wooden cubicle next to the toilet facilities with a gap around the top so you wouldn’t want to use them in the wind or rain as it would blow through the gaps at the top. Very small (the size you’d expect for a single toilet cubicle, not a shower), these need to be doubled in length as there was no space to move out of the way and dry yourself. Not what you’d expect for £45 a night, even if it is during school holidays.

Toilets good working order but should have been checked on more often, especially in the morning on busy check out mornings as the ladies had ran out of toilet roll by 10 am on Sunday as everyone was using the facilities before leaving the site (as expected). Otherwise, appeared reasonably well cleaned and maintained.

On arrival - you need to call the manager on arrival. We only knew this as I’d booked last minute on the day so I actually read the small print in the pitch up email, but usually I wouldn’t bother. There is a very small sign by the gate advising you to do this, but obviously this wasn’t big enough as people were arriving and not knowing where to go and headed for the shower block assuming it was the reception to check In.
As a suggestion, they either need a bigger sign telling you to call on arrival as you come in the gate or they also need a large sign on the toilet facility block telling people to call the site manager on arrival as people were arriving and not knowing where to pitch and assumed the toilet block was the reception and then walking round still not knowing what to do as they didn’t see the sign when they came in. As a suggestion, they should number the electric pitches (I.e 1-6) and have a sign to make this obvious on the shower block telling people Electric pitches 1-6 with an arrow pointing towards them, non electric- pitch where you like as there were people pitching in the electric areas who were later moved as people who had paid for electric were coming later that day and electric pitches were limited in comparison.

Overall, lovely spacious site but not worth £45 a night (despite being electric and in school holidays so I would expect to pay more. Non-electric pitches were probably much more better value for money.

Gostou Great place to spend an evening!
Site had everything we needed for a quick escape, and the bell tent was lovely, we all enjoyed our stay!

Gostou Very peaceful, large field with great view of the sky, good location with a couple of good pubs nearby serving food.

Não gostou Not really a dislike but minor feedback - It was not clear where to place any rubbish but after asking another camper found there were large bifa bins back at the entrance which we hadn't noticed when arriving.

Unfortunately you will have arrived when we change out the bins and they are located at the gate for Biffa our bin contractors to collect, normally they are right besides the toilet block.

Gostou The site can only really be described as basic but for me, this was more than adequate. The grounds are good and the site is very quiet. The amenities cabin, with toilets, vending machine, fridge and freezer, washing up sink, electric charging points and adjacent showers blocks share the basic but acceptably functional nature of the site's apparent ethos. However, I can't complete this review without giving props to the proprietor's very relaxed, approachable, honest and accommodating communications they provide. They accepted my very last minute booking and late arrival (10pm) and insisted they be contacted at any time if I ran into any issues - which I did when I missed the entrance and was guided back to the site by phone. If you're considering a stay here, you can find their number on Google and call them directly to discuss any queries. Thanks to Martin and the staff for that.

Não gostou Planes until the early hours which were fairly loud. Felt like a lot of people for amount of facilities on the Sat night. Could have just done with a bit more info on where we could walk
