Set in the grounds of a working livestock farm, Panoramic Camping and Glamping has a six-acre hilltop meadow with wondrous views over Glamorgan hills to the sea. Completely off the grid, the site uses solar energy. The owners have been running the farm since 2007, and as well as a few friendly hens, you’re likely to see cattle and a flock of Llanwenog sheep grazing when you are out and about on site. And that’s not all – if you’re lucky, you might also see a gorgeous sunset or two over the Loughor Estuary. Located in a convenient but peaceful spot near Swansea that gives easy access to the M4 – handy when you’re planning day trips – you can head for the beaches of the Gower Peninsula in about 30 to 45 minutes by car or test your mettle with climbs in the Brecon Beacons National Park. You don’t even need to get in the car – there are plenty of rambling opportunities straight from the glamping field, so setting off on your own biking or hiking adventures is a breeze. Forgotten something? No problem, there are handy stores in the local villages of Pontlliw (five minutes’ drive) and Pontarddulais (10 minutes) – and guess what? There are pubs there too.

Polubione The kitchen huts are brilliant, each camping pitch has their own wooden hut with clear plastic windows which provide shelter from the wind / rain / sun. Access to a mini-fridge dedicated to our pitch was also very useful. The site has amazing views in all directions, a good playground for the kids and clean toilet / shower and wash-up areas. Being up on a hill does mean the wind can be quite strong but the kitchen hut with picnic table meant that cooking was still really easy. The huts also contain separate bins which makes recycling very easy. With only 10 standard pitches and 4 glamping tents the site is quiet with plenty of space for the kids to play.

Forget Me Not namiot typu safari 1 pokój (dla sześciu osób)

Polubione * The safari tent was extremely comfortable and well equipped: stove, battery-powered lights, a portable charger, cooking equipment (pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses, cheese grater, knives, kitchen roll, chopping board, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, wipes and brush and pan), a stove and washing up bucket to carry the dirty crockery to the sinks.
* The tent had two double beds and a sofa, with nice bedding and loads of pillows and throws to stay comfy. The little bio-ethanol heater kept things cosy in the evenings too.
* The central block had clean same-sex showers and toilets, sinks with drinking water and a room with fridges (each tent allocated a fridge) and a charge point.
* The playground was great with swings, slide and trampoline plus some outdoor toys and a little football pitch on the side. Kids loved this.
* The individual firepits came with logs, fire lighters and matches (enough for one use).
* We received a free bottle of milk in the fridge and a basket of teas, coffees, hot chocolate biscuits and sugar. Enough for our entire stay.
* We went to the beach at Oxwich Bay which was perfect for families, with toilets and a cafe and shop, as well as a company which does boat tours. Need £8 cash for the car park. Mumbles was great for restaurants and bars and a cute little pier with great fish & chips, and a couple of lidos. The nearby waterfalls also made for a really nice walk - some people were swimming there, mostly kids. The Showcaves were further away but stunning and worth the money. Margam Country Park was nice for a picnic and the kids enjoyed the mini houses and playground. All of these were were easily drivable from the M4.

Polubione Exceptional place ! Highly recommended. We just came back from a family staycation. Beautiful accommodation, well looked after and clean, excellent amenities, everything provided, great playground for children. I don’t give out 10 out of 10 but this place deserves it.

We already are planning to visit this place again.

Polubione The facilities are amazing. The shower is probably the best water pressure I have ever had! There are no electrical camping pitches but there is a fridge assigned to your pitch and a wooden hut with bench table and counter top style layout which was useful. The pitch was large enough for both tents and if you wanted a gazebo could easily fit on. Great little playground, and green for the kids to play on. The view is gorgeous.

Niepolubione The downside to being on the top of a hill is the wind. We had a couple of sleepless nights as the wind was strong with nothing to shield the tent from it. On a non-windy night, it is of course, fine but worth checking overnight gust strength.

Polubione I had a solo camp here and it was just fabulous. Thanks to the cabin my tent has never been so tidy! The fridges were an amazing extra, much appreciated. There are also plugs for charging which is also so handy. Wonderful hosts too with great info sent through by text on the day of arrival. Thank you so much!

Active types get out and about hiking and cycling in the Brecon Beacons National Park (40 minutes’ drive), and kayaking or following the sculpture trail at Lower Lliw Reservoir. Keen anglers bunker down for an afternoon’s carp fishing near Pontarddulais, and golfers can hone their handicap on the course close by (all 10 minutes’ drive). You might like to combine history and a jolly good stretch of the legs walking up to Carn Llechart Stone Circle and Cairn (half an hour), the biggest Bronze Age circle in Wales. Wildlife more your thing? Head to the WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre (25 minutes) to spot flamingoes and geese, or spend the day looking for rare butterflies, lizards or otters at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (half an hour). If the kids are demanding days at the seaside, head to the coast for fun-filled days on the sandy Gower Peninsula beaches (30 to 45 minutes). This being south Wales, you might need a rainy day option, so if the weather should turn on you, take off to the family-friendly and interactive National Waterfront Museum in Swansea (half an hour) and reward good behaviour with a go on the slides at neighbouring LC Waterpark.
