Polubione We had a lovely, peaceful 2 night stay at Ashleigh Lakes. Alf was friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed even though we arrived fairly late due to traffic. The site had everything we needed and overall it was a pleasant experience.

What an absolute gem of a campsite! From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming, peaceful, and perfectly looked after. The pitches were spacious, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to settle in straight away. The facilities were spotless and well-equipped — clearly cared for with real attention to detail.

But what truly set this stay apart was the host. Brilliant doesn’t even begin to cover it! Warm, approachable, and full of local knowledge, they went out of their way to make us feel at home. Whether it was offering tips on the best walks nearby, checking in to see if we needed anything, or just sharing a friendly chat, their hospitality was second to none. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it makes all the difference.

We left feeling relaxed, looked after, and already planning our next visit. If you’re looking for a campsite that combines excellent facilities with a host who really cares, look no further — this place is perfect!

Polubione Stayed mid week and enjoyed the whole field to myself. Was met by Alf who talked me through the setup. Lovely and quiet evening enjoyed the bats and owls in the field. Field was well kept and grass kept short which on a wet morning was appreciated.

Showers were nice and hot and clean.

Polubione Peaceful, nice gentleman comes to greet you on arrival. Grass pitch pretty level.

Your one night booking, which happened to be a Sunday night, may be the reason for finding the middle of fenland a little befeft of local amenities.

Just to clarify:-

There is a post office and shop 50m from the entrance to the site. It closes at midday on a Sunday, but opens at 08:30 on Monday morning.

There is also a local Community centre within 700m of the site entrance. It is open Wednesday to Saturday nights as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Ultimately your Sunday night timing was unfortunate.

Polubione Quiet small site, large level pitches, sheltered, had minimal facilities but all that I needed. Adjacent to lovely lake with good dog walking.

Polubione Nice site with adequate clean facilities and great for a spot of fishing. Post office and local store across the road.

Very friendly hosts and other guests on the site. Certainly visit again.

Everyone that I spoke to, including you, told me that everything was fine. I can't correct faults unless I am made aware of them.

Telling me one thing to my face and then writing a review like this helps nobody.

On previous Bank Holidays I have had over 30 pitches filled, with no-one complaining about space. This year there weren't even 20 pitches taken (my conscious decision). As I have 26 hookups I don't believe that you would have found a more spacious pitch over the August Bank Holiday.

Polubione Neighbours were nice. Field was well tended.

Niepolubione Showers 🤢😡. NOT CLEAN. Going mouldy. Hot water took about 10 minutes to come through, then intermittent. Desperately tried to find somewhere else to stay so wouldn’t have to use the shower, but everywhere else full up due to Bank holiday. Shower block definitely needs demolishing and a new one building. Elsan point was disgusting with the “obvious” being smeared round the rough concrete enclosure. You could smell it before you got anywhere near it 🤮. We don’t fish, but lake/pond looked stagnant around the edges and not many access points due to severe overgrowth of grasses, etc. Other than fishing, not much to do nearby without travelling. Only wildlife we saw was rabbits. Will definitely not be going back. Photos of site very misleading until you get to the end of them and then some truth can be seen.
